I was online today and when I turned on my mic and started talking I got many hatful comments for being a kid and quickly got kicked from the game. While I am aware that there are many annoying, rude and racist children on online games I find that a lot of adults are just as rude instantly asume I'm a jerk. Discuss.

This, kids shouldn't be playing games that arent for their age, so if you play a game thats for 16 or 18+ as a kid, then they have every single right to kick you without any sort of a warning.

I get away with that because I sound over sixteen. =)
I have actually found some of the younger players to be pretty entertaining, especially the ones who beg you not kill them and to stand still and whatnot.

Bah. If a kid can play the game well, and isn't mic spamming or hacking or otherwise being obnoxious, there's no reason to ban him. I was playing CS when I was 13, and I was just as good as everyone else on the server.

Young gamers have the stigma of being annoying. Your best bet is to not talk through a mic if you want to play with older gamers, at least until you get some credibility.

So you were in a game with some dickheads, they were going to attack you even if you weren't 13. They just wanted to mess with somebody and they used your age as an excuse.
As long as you don't talk too much or do something else annoyingmost people shouldn't boot you.

Just mute it and you can play online. Until you're older you'll have to take a lot of shit, and even then you probably will get kicked from a lot of matches, so if you want to keep playing you can't try talking with others, sucks but few other options.

A younger gamer with a highly annoying voice, and/or nagging tendancies can be 100x worse than a bad player/team killer/spawn camper/dick.

I do agree with the "why the fuck are you playing a Mature game?" attitude though. It's like sneaking into a movie you shouldn't be able to see, then complaining when your chucked out.


Best advice, turn your mic off. For at least 5 years.
