V (V for Vendetta)
Fixed for you. And I don't call Transformers a "movie". I call it a "piece of trash".
aren't you elitist. (how was that on topic..?
and failing to fix the 'c' to and 'x' in matrix
i just hope we can have something like the fakeout HEIL! handshake shooting in the 90's one.
(see nostalgia critic on the movie to see the scene, it's early.)
i am cautious about this movie, as it appears to be a musical...
And your problem was... what?

I agree with that guy, also calling those movies one of the best I've ever seen.

I think this would is a nice casting call. I mean, the guy has that kind of voice that can send chills of terror down your spine at will. Think how much more so when he's speaking with a German accent.

Uh, yeah, Cap's already tangled with Red Skull on the big screen. There was an early 90's Captain America movie and Red Skull was the bad guy.

It sucked. Hard.
There were appearantly two or three other Captain America movies as well. They weren't much better if you ask me. Let's hope they manage to do it better than those.
Two with Reb Brown and one with Matt Salinger.

on a side note for you Weaving fans out there:

I was about to post that image, when you compare that with the Red Skull image on the article he seems perfectly fit for the role!

I really, really hope this movie doesn't turn out to be a piece of shit.
It will probably be worse then the 90s Captain America movie, also you NEVER put Musical numbers in a Super Hero movie, ESPECIALLY Captain America

Sounds good, The guy has the ability to appear sinister quite well.

He could pull of the Red Skull.

I'm really worried that this movie will suck, what with the musical numbers.
And then when I saw this article I thought Hugo Weaving would be all wrong for this role, fortunately the article reminded me that he'd played V in V for Vendetta and he was damn good in that. I hope the Red Skull turns out kind of like Hans Landa (the Jew Hunter) was in Inglourious Basterds, but less charismatic and more terrifyingly insane.
I still think that Joe Johnston is a terrible pick for director in this movie. I mean, have you seen some of the stuff he's directed? Admittedly he's done some better movies as of late, but his early stuff was mostly crap.

Also Cap does not sing and dance, he beats up people who sing and dance. FOR AMERICA!

That logic doesn't even work. "oh well they tried it in the 90s clearly this will be dumb". It's like saying "oh well the last time Batman fought the Joker was in the 1960s and it was stupid campy bullshit so lets pass on this Tim Burton fella's idea"

With Hugo Weaving involved this may bring the movie up from total shit and waste of film to just total shit. But i'm not getting my hopes up

Edit: if anyone thought the early 90's Captain America movie sucked..look up the two Capn movies made in the 70's with Reb Brown in the starring role

I'm not saying that. I'm saying Red Skull was the villain last time Captain America had a movie, and said movie was terrible.

"Miiister Ameeerica. Welcome back! We missed you..."
Lol, similar thing happened when I went to see LotR at the movies, the part where he says "Welcome to Rivendell..." someone shouted out "Mr Anderson!"

Its good that they are getting better actors (and directors) for the new generation of Marvel movies. You can't really have such a thing as too much talent can you?

Well maybe if they are divas who demand more and more screen time.

your trasformers-bashing was what i was saying was elitist of you, seems out of nowhere given the post you are quoting.

Hugo Weavings also gave his voice in Transformers. Get your facts straight before you come down insulting people.

Excuse me, sir, but the post you quoted mention his work in transformers, so from my point of view, it was that you agreed with him, that in various movies he does good work, and then a random bashing comment on a simple FX-driven summer popcorn movie. perhaps if the original post listed transformers as one of his credits, then your comment makes sense.
but really just sounds like a totally random jab.
Just because something is simple and pretty does not mean its trash, and the seeming randomness of said comment gives the impression of a 'film' snob, which i find insulting.
and I fight fires with flamethrowers
its not oscar or other award material, no delusions there, but its still goodbut it is a pleasant viewing for a couple hours with some friends.

[HEADING=2]back to topic, because i would feel guilty diverting the thread further:[/HEADING]
this movie often sounds like it could be good, but i will remain skeptical, because of the dozen or so musicals i've seen, i've only likes blues brothers and Dr. Horrible.
And this movie is sounding a fair bit musical-ly to be based on this and other information on it.
still hold judgment until release.
