Yep. One time I wanted to download a fairly old game online. The game came as promised, but along with it came a virus that played soft rock on my computer speakers whenever I connected to the internet.
Things that have happened to other people that you might like:
A kid bought a game (grand theft auto I think) and found pills taped inside the manual.
A 6 year old got a PSP from walmart and there was a 1 GB memory stick full of porn on it.
I guess I got a used copy of GoW2 once and had to return it because it looked like someone let a cracked out tyrannosaurus go to town on it.

can't say that's happened to me, but I'd agree that it's always best to check game cases before leaving the store if you're buying them used. if not only to check for scratches.
an i hate it when you get pysched up for a game and looking forward to playing it all night then something goes wrong. such a crap feeling
ive never been given the wrong game but ive had stupid pc issues that ive had to fix after hours of net surfing to try and figure out how to solve the problem.
I used to work at EB games so I know I've messed up someones night of gaming myself by selling them the game box and forgetting the disc
its a standard newbie mistake i was told. I still felt pretty stupid about it though.

I bought Star Wars Empire At War from Gamestop. Found out my PC at the time had no DVD drive. After getting one from a friend I found out the game didn't come with the CD Key (which was required to install). GameStop didn't have another copy, so they just gave me my moeny back.
I am curious as to the fate of that game though.

i usually do chek .. but it was one of those days where i was just thinking "fuck it .. wanna go home .. play and chill out .. long day" .. haha .. believe it or not i actually had to fight for it, they said the receipt i gave them wasn't valid and i made an epic fuss and told them i wouldn't leave the store until they checked their systems .. coz i KNOW i'm not just some random guy trying to score a free PS3 gameffxfriek said:

just goes to show .. you get nowhere in life being the quite passive guy .. if you don't make a fuss sometimes then nothing gets done .. even if it means ytou have to face some embarrassment (the whole store was looking haha)
