This, a thousand times this!
Although one more thing to add: timed+platforming == punching kittens rage

Oh, and enemies spawning behind you. That is never fun...
Agreed on the spawn issue, but timed precision platforming is basically the meat and potatoes of the Prince of Persia games, which I love to bits.
Fair enough, platforming games are supposed to have platforming after all, but it really doesn't belong in any other genre. I am suddenly reminded of the HL1 Xen level *shudders*

Ok timed stuff in general I hate--only escort mission I ever got frustrated with was in JC 2 when you have to escort the UB's Technician through a temple and guard him. It's not my problem if he runs ahead! Another thing that ticks me off is when enemies can find you easier than you can for them! Now in a game like Killing Floor or Left 4 Dead when you face zombies that's okay because footsteps can bring them closer to you which makes sense. Something else that really ticks me off is when they put in a boss fight that can only be beaten by trial and error like in Shadow of the Colossus (Please note I don't fault SotC for it, it's one of my favorite games, it just ticked me off) when each boss has a different way to beat them. Sure you get hints but the way to getting to what the hint describes is tricky!

Ummm cheating bosses. well not really cheating but the bosses in FF13 had this spell they could cast that was like a death timer. If you didn't kill them before the timer ran out you died and had to start over. They could cast it at anytime. Pain in the bloody ass.

Also this but more so luck. If it take luck to win I want to kick a kittin into a puppy that shoved down a baby throat choking it.

Games that are easy for a while, then throw out a boss fight or something that just seems point-blank impossible.
A lot of JRPG's are guilty of this.

Shooting with R2 and not letting me change it.

It's not more like a trigger, you pull it with your fucking middle finger!

I remember when savegames existed not only so you can continue on, but as a failsafe if you crashed on your stoneage computer.

Crashing. I hate that.

This is what made me hate RSV2. Those cheating assholes can see you through walls, spawn behind you, and always rush the exact millisecond you hit the reload button.

When they take away the ability to jump!!!!!!
That pisses me of sooooooooo much in Brutal Legend.

OT: RPG element where they are not needed.

Lazy PC ports. Or even just regular PC ports that do a good job of switching platform but then ruin the whole thing in your mind by forgetting to switch out all the in-game button hints that say the Xbox controls with ones for at least the default mouse and keyboard setup.

Most people I know, like myself, use their index finger for both shoulder buttons since you never really have to use them both at the same time.

Bosses with repetitive unstoppable moves, that take halve your health away. Looking at you Jinpachi from Tekken 5.

Cut scenes you can't skip.

Poor hit detection.

That's all I can think of right now.
