That's because there was no follower AI. Just a special "ally" flag combined with very basic commands on top of normal AI. It's a good thing because you can easily create new followers, but a bad thing because it's an extremely lazy option which makes the followers react exactly like enemies(attack whenever a threat is seen).BrotherhoodOfSteel said:I thought your follower in Fallout 3 was decent. On-Topic: AI is only good when it's used for enemies, it's the same reason/argument that physics should only be used to make limbs fly about in massive explosions of gore.
Simpler said: I don't fucking care that enemies use cover and try to flank me, or that some prop behaved exactly like it would in real life when it's not fun. There should be just enough AI for enemies to walk and shoot at me and physics, well, if chunks of an enemy's body don't fly in 10 different directions after it got hit by a rocket, what's the point of having it?
