AION on-line: is it any good?

hey guys... well, i was planning on buying the AION game, get a membership and try it out, i have never played WOW because well... i didn´t liked the concept art, now AION comes and i find the concept art appealing so i began to wonder in the idea of getting it

i have played some free MMO´s games in the past and well... they seemed dull in my oppinion (after all they were free) but i always liked and enjoyed the experience, now i always wondered what would a full pay MMO would be like, and looked at WOW (arguably the best there is, or so i have heard) but i just find the game ugly, i dont like how it looks.

sooo... this might be the main question, is it worth it?? a membership i mean, or is the whole experience of a payed MMORPG like the free ones??

also, wich MMO would be good for a newbie like me?

please keep it civil i dont mean to start a flame war, and if you are just going to say "MMORPG´s ARE BAD" please state your personal experience as of why do you think they are bad.

I hated the art style for WoW too but I now realize that it was the best idea because you can play the game on nearly any computer.

As to Aion, I have a lot of friends who started playing it and love it. They say that it definitely won't kill WoW, ever. But that it is a nice break from it.

I want to pick it up, as I hear such good things about it, but I have no means of funding the purchase and account. I'd say check Aion out. That or WoW. You may be pleasantly surprised.

I'm playing and enjoying it. Why not pick it up and give it a shot? At the worst, you've got a free month to decide if you like it or not.

aion is awesome.
i played as asmodian on the beta and its was tottally awesome expecially the part of flying.
