Just curios to see who else here is into airsoft/what weapons they go for.

I've been using the TSD Spring M14 (shortened barrel) and an HK USP (the C02 version), and I'm loving them both.

And for the first snide skeptic who shows up, I'll save you the effort: Yes, this is basically like throwing rocks at each other. With style. Now shut up.

I'm not "into" it, but a couple years ago I ran around the woods in Germany with some guys shooting each other. Was great fun, but it bloody hurt.

I prefer video games.

While I can easily head shot people on X-Box, I bet I would be horribly inaccurate with Airsoft guns.

I llike airsoft when there isn't a lot of wind. That can really fuck up your accuracy. Its also better when you combine it with sword fights. Pistol in one hand, sword in the other, CHARGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ive been thinking of buying one. But ill probably just break something with it.

Can you kill seagulls with it or should I just buy a bowgun for that?

I played alot until the other team started shooting at us during the break while we were at our base eating pizza and talking. We all ran around grabbing and reloading our guns, and while i ran over to grab my mask, i got shot in the tooth and it broke in half. I was the best guy out of all of us, and i decided to quit after that.

My parents were NOT happy

Actually for being a tiny plastic bead propelled by a spring (most common kind where I was, never saw a compressed air one except online) these things are surprisingly accurate. I used to sit outside my balcony shooting leaves off the trees. It was something to do while I was smoking.

Airsofting's better.

I like Airsofting. I'm buying my first gun tommorow (10th June).
Airsoft's better if you have a quality group that knows how to take cover and doesn't cheat, otherwise you could just as well run around with a stick and go "BAM! BAM! BAM!".
Good point. Airsofting does rely on honesty.

Also, there is such a thing as a Bang Rule.

I tried shooting some jugs of water with a shotgun and I totally missed, hitting everything but them on the bench they were sitting on.

Another thing is that Airsoft is more realistic but actually less fun. Lower accuracy and shorter range of Paintball markers allow for more bravado and dynamics, while in Airsoft, where you have full-automatic fairly accurate guns it's way better to camp than move if you want to survive a minute.
I think it's all down to opinion.

I have been Paintballing and Airsofting, and I can safely say that (In my eyes) Airsofting was muh better and a hell of a lot more fun.

I wish I still had the link....in college we did a high speed video of someone getting shot with an airsoft gun. At 10,000 fps, you can really see the blubber fly. Funny thing was, my roommate at the time had been expelled from high school for bringing an air soft gun.

I generally prefer paintball because it doesn't rely on honesty, and more people I know play it.

I go for airsofting mostly because of the price.

That being said, the realizm aspect certainly makes it a little more intense and fun. As long as you know how to use cover, you do fine. I sort of like that not running into the open like a jackass isn't rewarded in airsoft.
