Wasn't a fan of her as a host, didn't care much for the ridiculous amount of bile hurled at her, don't care much for her childish response.

This is the best verbal ass beating that i've seen in a long time. She has my respect.
So what do you think?

Whenever anyone brings out the "I've played games for longer than you..." card, it makes me cringe, regardless of their gender. It is pointless, useless and irrelevant.

Yes, even when people on the internet flame you for supposedly not playing them. It is utterly irrelevant.

Yeah, wtf is up with the reaction to her? Seriously, people, grow up. Good thing we don't have anything like that on the Esca-

Why is she being such a **** to Toby? Does she think being a complete **** is sexy or something? Because it isn't.
-pist. Come on, people, let's try to not be part of the problem.

"How many games have you done voices for?"

None, but, then again, VO and acting aren't my profession, so what's your point?
If the issue is whether or not she's enough of a 'gamer' to be hosting part of E3...yeah. I think participating in the production of video games qualifies.

fozzy360 said:
"I was the voice in not one, but two major video game titles."

You, and dozens of other folks who regularly VO as a job. Stunning accomplishment.
...are you trying to invalidate accomplishments based on the number of people who've done the same thing?

fozzy360 said:
"I get invited to E3 because real gamers know I'm a gamer."

Or maybe because you're a personality who's moderately famous, which in turn will attract some publicity to the event in question.
And one who avidly plays video games. That's a rather important part of it.

fozzy360 said:
Also, "real gamer?" The fuck does that mean?
An actual gamer, as opposed to a pretty face who hasn't touched a controller in her life, as a startling number of people seem to think.

fozzy360 said:
Whatever. It's a childish rant that does nothing to or for anybody. I still enjoy her work, though.
That's...actually a nice concession. I admire the ability to take issue with someone's actions while not letting it color your perception of their work.

Lana on the show, Archer. A great show.
I'm too biased, since I really like that one show.
Don't forget she was also Charlie Wheeler in Friends (Ross's palaeontologist girlfriend in season 9/10)...

I have nothing else to say on this topic, just wanted to point that out

She wasn't as good as Joel McHale, but she wasn't that horrible either.

Comparing in reference to previous years of the Ubi conference as McHale was the presenter(and not Talk Soup aka The Soup in which they both have hosted.)

She does voice work for Archer, making her infinitely more important than you can possibly imagine.

Who's Toby?

OT: It's kind of cring-y. Presumably people were saying she "wasn't a real gamer", I didn't hear about it. E3 had probably already driven me to drinking myself paralytic by that point.

I mean, tell them to go fuck themselves, sure, but it's very much cringe-inducing, in terms of taking gaming seriously in the worst way possible.

Still, that's what happens when you risk the... DANGER ZONE!

You know, I didn't like her stand up, and I felt sad she didn't realize it was the writers for Archer that made her funny, but she really is an awesome person.

Yeah, I saw this and my first thought was who the fuck is Aisha Taylor?
She was in Friends and Ghost whisperer. When I first saw her come on at E3 I thought 'WTF is she doing here?'

I thought she was funny as heck at the press conference.

While I think he rant was a tad meanspirited toward the end, its no less-so than the people flinging crap at her, so I say You Go Girl.

Whether it really accomplishes anything or not is irrelevant. We always seem to think of things in this sense of "what does it accomplish" and that isn't always the right thing to do. In this case, there is no goal, there is nothing to accomplish, she's a lover of games who's had a mountain of crap thrown at her by ignorant, racist, and/or misogynist losers and she's pissed about it. I'd go on a rant too.

An actress/comedian. She hosted a show called The Soup (which makes fun of current events in pop culture) when I was in middle school or early high school. I really don't know what she's done since then, and that was something like ten years ago. I remember I liked her a lot back then, though.

I don't see anything hate-worthy here. But I was unaware that people didn't like her until now. There are two "isms" that come to mind, one starting with an r and the other with an s.

well she definitely said some things that made me cringe a lil bit, like the girl wood thing, but all in all i thought she was a pretty good host, and her back and forth with toby made me chuckle quite a bit. in any case im very thankful that we didnt have to endure mr. caffeine again. if he didnt get this much hate she definitely doesn't deserve it, no doubt all these people are just having a go at her because shes a woman. i wuvs woo aiweesha tywer <3

I also remember her on the Reach Beta.
