Seems pretty fecking stupid to me, but I've not played MW2. From what people have told me, it seems fairly OP though.
It is. Way more range on it than any other shotgun, and typically can kill people at the maximum hit distance in 1 or 2 shots.

At least these problems with MW2 may lead to a decent outcome...........all the cunts can stay there and all the decent gamers can go back to CoD4!

They're definitely overpowered, but that isn't going to stop a good player from dominating a match. It should probably be patched, but I don't consider it a game breaker.

I just realised something horrible today. If Barrett manages to push its XM109 anti-materiel rifle through the selection process, we're going to see games like this seriously suggesting that one can carry and effectively use a goddamned 25x59mm grenade-launching rifle, meant for disabling APCs. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrett_XM109]

Did anybody else's heart start running cold?
with regards to that weapon:
WANT.
but, then again, i roll as engie w/ AT rifle in 2142, and love it.
(want it in BF3, CoD can lick my sack nowadays.)

Here's another thing that sucks - Wasteland.

This map is just terrible. First of all, it is HUGE, meaning you spend ages pointlessly wandering around, secondly, there is only one area where you can take cover, which means that killstreaks will utterly wreck your team. Thirdly, that one area is so compact and narrow that a couple of grenades or Akimbo shotgun blasts in there will kill anyone in there (who are probably hiding from the Chopper Gunner that is tearing their team apart). And finally, it is a map practically designed for camping Snipers; no cover, so much grass everywhere means they can be nearly impossible to spot.

I don't think the 1887's aren't that bad, but it annoys me when people use them exclusively. Having them as an excellent back-up weapon(like I do) is fine, but running around with them for an entire match just annoys me.

Now the akimbo Rangers, they annoy me. People always seem to turbo them at close range, and it's stupid. One shot will do, yet these guys need to fire all four of their shots at me.

As for the other akimbo weapons, the P90 is fucking hilarious, the Deagle feels manly to use, the USP is practical and awesome and I haven't used any others.

Yep, and when you play with a host in a far off country (which is All the time for me) this happens in pretty much every game.

Which of course, sucks all the fun out and makes it unplayable.
What's even more annoying is that it's unlocked at level 67, which basically means newer players like myself are denied the most powerful weapon in the game simply because we are new.

Not fair.
Actually, I think it's better that most of the 'power weapons' are unlocked at the end. Since 'Prestige mode' is very popular, you don't see many people 67-70. They're mostly either new and haven't got their or they've prestiged. They're are only three people(me included) that have unlocked the 1887's on my friends list due to prestige mode. In my experience, the 1887's are rarely seen unless someone I know is using them.

Akimbo anything is completely impossible anyway. No matter what John Woo says, it is impossible totally impractical to wield two firearms and actually hit anything in a firefight. And 2 shotguns would blow your arm off.

I don't play the game, I just had to make that point.

EDIT: The main problems I have with it is that MW2 makes both a half-hearted claim to realism, whereas doing that in real life is completely impossible, even for a trained soldier.
I mean Arnie could only do one, and that was a special version that didn't even fire at full power, and he says that when he did it, it caused him incredible pain.
And secondly, it makes a claim to being 'modern' and no army, even Guerrilla armies unless they're severely strapped for weapons, use that 120 year old gun.
Furburt strikes again.

While I agree with you, if MW2 were entirely realistic, it'd sell as well as a turd sandwich. Some fans of the original sandwich franchise would try to like it, and most people would move on to "Ham sandwiches,.inc". Having said that, I believe their claim to realism is the weapons, which are accurate as far as I know.
