I was kind of thinking a similar thing. With the time it takes to develop games, we're looking at a Half Life: Episode 3 on our hands.Brotherofwill said:Wow, thanks for spoiling the cliffhanger bit you idiots, usually these kind of endings are just an excuse for poor writing (like Assassins Creed).
When will the 2nd episode be out? 2015?
well the champion of Episodic gaming is SiN episodes and they planned to release 9 of them in total at much more frequent dates then normal full games, the first one was released in 2005 and Episode 2 was released... oh wait it got canned, sorry bad exampleErnstige Jan said:Then what will happen when nobody likes it? I don't know about all this episodic gaming.
The thing is it can work. Valve just got a touch of ADD and went off on the full retail games instead of finishing what they started. If you think about it HL 3 could have been done years ago. They have Garry's Mod so all they need to do is put all the players in place and release it. There doesn't need to be any upgrades or anything special. Maybe a new gun or 2 but not absolutely necessary. HL 2 ep 2 was good enough. HL ep 3 should be just as good even if it is not graphically better. And it would be if they released it within a year or 2 of HL ep 2. The longer they wait the better the game will have to look.Wadders said:Oh god, and to think I was looking forward to this. It looks pretty cool, but....
I thought episodic gaming died a well deserved death about the time Valve figured out it didn't work?
