In a hilariously ironic twist, online retailer Zavvi will be shipping Alan Wake with a free copy of Too Human, a game with a tremendously long development time, that didnt live up to a fraction of the hype that it created before its release.

Is this a subtle way for the retailer to tell us Alan Wake will not pull a Too Human and be pants? If so, this is quite a jab in the stomach for the developers behind Too Human: not only is their game being given out free, but with a game with 5 years production which actually turns out to be great! (bearing in mind Alan Wake has been given 93% in the first available review, leaked from a spanish gaming magazine)

Thoughts Escapists?

One thing we know for certain, it certainly isn't meant as an enticement - since I think a decidedly mediocre 6.5 was the best Too Human achieved.

Edit: Perhaps this needs a poll to see if the promise of Too Human would sway anyone's decision about buying the game?

Well, I trust Spanish gaming magazines as much as the next man, but perhaps we're supposed to play Alan Wake, and if we find it too bad, compare it to Too Human. That way we are able to carry on.

As a hopeless mutant who actually played Two Worlds all the way through and even got EVERY SINGLE 360 achievement for it (So I am no stranger to awful games.) then let me say that if they are willing to give me the entire game for free then I'll probably play it out of spite and masochism if nothing else.

I expect many Jello shots will be involved in the process.

Hey, good or not a free game is a free game.

I wouldn't complain getting it free with Alan Wake.

Too Human is the kind of game I'd buy cheap. I played it at a friend's house and really enjoyed it, so this is pretty good for me.

I think bundling Too Human with it actually lessens the value of Alan Wake.

Couldn't they just use all those Too Human copies as landfill?

Why, for the love of God, are they shacking us up with it?

You know, it's funny, I liked Too Human, but I'm not at all interested in Alan Wake... this promotion is backwards from where I stand.

Great, it would be fun. Should I burn it? Pound it into oblivion with a fire extinguisher? Give it away to my enemy? Put it through a meat grinder? Suggestion, guys?

Ok, the more I've looked into this, the more I've realised how much of a retard this is going to make me sound, especially considering all the hype and the incredibly long time in development...

But how did I know NOTHING about this game until this thread?

Seriously, I can't believe I've missed something that has had so much hype behind it, and I like to think I'm pretty active in keeping up with gaming news. It's just totally passed me by.

It does look bloody amazing though, and in the last ten minutes I've spent with google/wikipedia/youtube I've got myself suitably excited to buy it. It's like Twin Peaks meets Silent Hill, what's not to like?
