I would say The Resistance because it was the only album I bought this year, but it was a HUGE disappointment compared to their earlier albums.

I think 2009 was a very weak year, in terms of metal releases... Fortunatly 2 of my non metal favorite bands, Wolfmother and Muse, release the albums Cosmic Egg and The Resistance, which both turned out to be my personal favorites of 2009.
