Play music for them. We create some great audible noise. There's so many types, got to be something for everyone, even ET's.
Outside of Star Wars, how often do you see aliens and music together? It almost never happens, so they need us to bring it to them.
Unless their ears are of a different design, or they lack them completely. It's possible that they won't even be able to comprehend the music the way we do.

I'd tell them that they can do what they want to humanity. In fact, I'd probably give them tips on how best to go about it.

Then laugh maniacally as they cut me down and move on to the rest of the planet.

This right here. Yeah we fuck up some times, but I'm not a total sociopath who'd let everyone die just cuz we're far from perfect. Also, we're not doing anything to them, why should they give a shit?

And to everyone who would let us die, keep in mind that you'd die too. And honesty, people like you are the reason people like you would let us die. So cut it out.

Are they tentacle beasts? Because I could just point them to a Hentai website and prove it right there...

Other than that. I'd make them watch Jersey Shore, maybe they'll take pity on us and either blow them up or just leave. I wish for the former.

Depends on the alien psychology.

(1) We're not worth the ammunition.
(2) All species in the universe like humans as sex partners, right? Hey, we're open, we even like tentacles!
(3) We can dance! Dance, monkeys, dance! See how laughable we are?
(4) Saving us is spitting in the face of Death, which is the nature and glory of Life.
(5) We'd make great additions to your zoos, where your children can throw peanuts at us.

Honestly, no alien species considering destroying us would be swayed by Shakespeare or Beethoven or Confucius, or anything else "great" we've done or produced - let alone "Humans have the capacity to luuurve!". Best to try to appeal to their base natures, whatever those might be.
Or "We are built for war, we had the ability to destroy all life on earth before we got into space. A few thousand of us will change the course of any wars you might be fighting."

Send them a care package including a copy of the New Testamet and the Koran, two live baby rabbits, two teenagers in love, a green chicken egg weighing 2 grams, a picture of the Eiffel tower, and a bit of asorted bric-a-brac. Either they get it or they don't.

"There is still time to turn back, really you don't want to to land here, it will only result in trouble for both of us."

Seriously I tell the aliens to avoid us or completely destroy us, at the moment i doubt very much we would be able to co-exist with another species.

I'd say give them a month to live on the Earth and have them explore all we have to offer. Given how much we provide for ourselves, after a month, it's likely that the aliens will become attached to one particular thing we create and not want to sacrifice destroying it. Thus, in a sort of "reverse psychology" method, when we ask a month later if they still want to destroy us, they'll have a personal and emotional connection to us and refuse.

If that doesn't work, I'll be the first to take a weapon and blast the hell out of them for being unable to see what good we offer when it's presented right in front of them. Also because they'd probably kill us all in an instant and I'd prefer to go down fighting for what I represent.

I actually highly approve of that statement. Humans: don't mess with us. Don't ever try to kick a blood simple monkey in the teeth, because you won't like what happens next.

Being an optimist makes you intelligent.
On the contrary, thinking aggressive, negative thoughts in a depressing environment makes you smarter. Humans are evolved to be lazy and complacent, make their situation less than favourable and see them find a way to get out of it.

To paraphrase Red Dwarf, we are human, that is our crime and also our punishment if there need be any. Failing that show them arts, cultures yadda yadda or do what humans did in Mass Effect in the First Contact War and impress the hell out of them with ingenuity.

We must show them that we can stand together! Show them we are not weak and that we will not give in so easily! Show them the beauty of humanity and it's various cultures! Show them that we are a young and naive but growing race that will one day learn from it's mistakes and become greater!

Ha, just kidding; that only works in movies. I bet that wouldn't do shit in real life. I guess we need to find out for what reason they are destroying us for and act accordingly. Is it because they think we are a vile and savage race? Is it because they think we are primitive and underdeveloped? Is it because they want resources? Is it to show how powerful they are to other alien races? Or could it be that they want to destroy just because they can?

I couldn't... Anything I said would be a lie as I personally don't feel humanity, in its current state, is worth saving.
You just took the words right out of my mouth.
What the hell is so great with us humans anyway?
The planet Earth, I can see, sure. But not the human race..

Pretty sure Bjork would work, as she may be from another planet herself. I can't really understand her over-reaching message but I dig her stuff, very interesting to multiple senses. Her song Pluto's just damn weird, especially near the end.
