Hi, I recently purchased a R2 desktop for $400.00 Canadian,

Parts replaced:

Hard drive - 2tb

Ram - 32gb dual channel 1600mhz

GPU - x2 ASUS GTX 760 OC 2gb video cards

DVD Rom- LG Blue-ray player

rest is all stock,

since I have replaced my gpu which was a ati radeon 5790 , I have had mad heating issues .... My top card runs at 93c and my bottom hovers at 81c ....

How can I go about more cooling?

I was thinking of cutting a piece out of side panel and sticking a 200mm fan into it, and unplugging the hard drive fan so I can plug the 200mm fan in....

Will this work? or can you all give a few tips?

any info will be much obliged!

Aurora R2

Bios A11

Intl i7 920 @ 2.67mhz factory overclocked to 3.2ghz

32gb Kingston 1600mhz ram (dual channel)

factory liquid cooling for cpu

2 asus gtx 760's 2gb each (both running at x16)

2 TB hard drive by Seagate 7200rpm

stock 875 watt Power Supply

Thanks !

If I were you, I would just buy a better case for your machine rather then trying to take a hacksaw to what you have now. A good one won't be cheap, but it will make upgrading and modifying your machine easier in the future, and you'll probably never have to replace it.

Yeah for sure lol, I already figured something out through much trial and error lol, I have re arranged the fans and moved my dvd drive to top bay and stuck the stock fan just below it, and yesterday I added 2x 120mm blue led fans, one to rad and one in front bottom of case, they are not that strong as I cant afford much till after rent lol,

my temps have dropped by almost 12c , my cards now run on par with each other and never pass 82c at high load and my CPU now idles at 36c down from 50c and under load never passes 64c

I had to put plastic backing back on side panel because I was loosing a lot of air through hole I cut lol,

The end result I am very pleased with :D , when I can afford it I will upgrade the fans to something a lot more strong
