Game hasn't even been out a day and I've already got rage on it.

There's an enemy called "Parasite", they latch on and infect you. ONly way to survive is to be healed by the team medic. My team medic is smart, they ran away from the entire team and I got infected. As I called for medic I saw that he/she was nowhere to be found. I died, then the medic got infected and died, then the rest of the team followed suit.

How has your first experience with Alien Swarm been so far?

It's still downloading. I don't even know if my computer can handle it, but my computer can handle Spore, so I guess I'll be fine.

I'm thinking of playing as the guy who uses the flamethrower.

The classes are modifiable, you can choose which weapons and accessories you want. I was a tech guy with an automatic rifle, flamethrower and hand-welder one round

It's interesting. The stat tracking at the end of each mission is pretty cool.

I'm guessing they will update it with more campaigns at a later date?

I've downloaded it and can get to the main menu, but whenever I try to join a server (even offline practice!) either it fails or the game exits.

To be fair on Steam, they are giving it away for free, so it's likely to be busy for a while, nd it'll still be free tomorrow when it calms down a bit.

I don't think they give away free games just to anger their fanbase

I'll grab it, but yeah, not in a rush, I'll play it when it's ready.
