Playing with friends=Great experience.

That said, Playing with the public is fucking miserable. First off, no one knows what the hell they are doing. No one listens. This is compounded by the fact the game is free, so that means more idiots than usual. At least if you have to pay for a game, you're less likely to dick around.

No one understands class balance, I'll go fucking techie and there will be like 3 other leaders or gunners. Vice versa. Even if you get a competent team balance, the players won't be competent. The amount of times I have died due to fail medic is astounding. Same with playing tech and other noobs don't bother protecting me while I hack shit. No one uses mic. ARGH

Have played a bit of it and here are my impressions/tips:

Melee is right click, and switching weapons is mouse scroll.
AMMO IS LOST if you reload with some ammo left, like in real life.
STICK TOGETHER. Like in Left 4 Dead, you run off and you're good as gone.
There are little infected things (like jockeys) that will latch onto you and suck life from you. The only way to get it off is with a medic healing you (or a suit unlocked at lv. 14)


Controls are fluid and the Source engine is gorgeous, so if you haven't downloaded this game yet, DO IT.
