Aliens vs Predator Multi-Player Demo

So for the past couple of days, I have been playing the multi-player demo for AvP that I downloaded off the XBL market place.

I think the game looks promising, with a few details that have bothered me: First of all, why is the demo a free for all? The game obviously would work better as a Team Death Match. As for actual game play mechanics, I think Alien is a little over powered because he can see through walls. Aside from that I think it's good. Whats your opions on the demo though?

I've seen previews, I love the Predator sound effects.

That noise as he changes to heat vision is great, and the distorted human voices he hears are good too. Predator will probably be my team in Team Deathmatch, or perhaps Marines.

Marines seem very underbalanced from what I've seen, but I like the challenge and someone needs to bat for us humans right?

Really, they are not. You just have to be decent enough with them. Since Predator and Alien are very melee-based classes, the Marine has an advantage in the early beginning. Then if he advances carefully, he can get the smart-gun and kick some serious ass

The marines are good when they work togther, but bad on their own. Like last night me and my friend went as two marines, and we won the match (first and second place respectively), but when ever I'm by myself I die. Also, they are useless in close combat.

I thought it was mediocre at best. The marine felt REALLY sluggish and outdated, lots of fights turned into a melee spam-fest, those way overhyped trophy-kills turned some matches into a dominoes game, the map was awfully designed and the graphics are pretty shit too.

Not to mention that the matchmaking fucking sucked.

So? If they lack the competence to make a working demo I am very doubtful of them being capable of making a good full game coughRogueWarriorcough.

I got it on Steam yesterday, I love stealth kills but I find that the predators are kind of handicapped as they are very slow and have only melee attacks until they pick up weapons. At least the Humans start with a gun.

I despise you. The PS3 version of the AvP demo doesn't work. Hell they've even said that they acknowledged that fact.
I guess I'll have to wait till they review it till I decide.

What some of the people are missing here is that the demo is based on a pre-release code and it does not reflect the final product. So on that note, yes the demo has some issues but it is the shitty version so let's not ***** about it until people get their hands on the full game.

[edit]let me put this in before anyone else comments about it, the biggest problem with this demo for me anyway is the fact that it is free-for-all. It should've been team deathmatch since people play TDM a hell of a lot more than just DM; look at any MP aspect of a game like MW2 for example since it actually tells you how many people are playing in what playlist and free-for-all isn't exactly the highest ranking mode.

Mine works fine. Played it yesterday. It's good but needs a little more of balancing.

I found it boring, most people playing as marines ran off and dicked about and the maps were so badly made

this game is cool and have had fun with my mates playing this...dont know why on earth they did free for all,at first thought certain species where overpowered but they arent you've just got to play the right way with each and your all good cant wait for the game to drop,and co-op is gunna be CRAZY!

I played it a load last week, Once i'd got used to the controls I was able to come top most rounds with any species. My only gripe is the how long the events are for stealth kills, you end up with all the players standing in a row waiting to grab the opponent in fromt of them as the animation ends...
