Play AVP2, a game with great story, every campaign uncovers a bit more of the entire plot and what actually happened during the "incident" and how all the stories intertwine in critical moments.

No I do, but I wasn't necessarily referring to the AVP games as being cookie cutter, I was just saying the whole FPS genre generally is these days. Also like I said, I have not played the games, so I didn't know the previous ones were actually decent, so I may give it a try at some point.
