I will say this, AvP (2010) is a fantastic game if your a fan of either franchise. Its kinda Meh for people who don't indulge themselves in the Aliens or Predator universe. That being said, I wonder what the Alien home world is gonna be like, and if the Space Jockeys will be there.

I think the idea is that the one hit killing is pretty OP, so they try to make it more balanced by forcing you to be a little tactical about it. And since they really wanted people to enjoy these moments, I guess they're unskippable.
True 'dat. :D
I'll have to rethink my statement. ^^

Anycase, I never expected much from this game and so I got what I expected. Although, I stand by my statement that this game is dying for an expansion. For me, the game is an upper class average, it needs just a bit of "something" to push it over into the class of great games.

I picked it up primarily to play multi-player with friends, and am thoroughly satisfied with that aspect of the game.

The single player I've found to be pretty good as well. The marine missions seem to have some kind of wonky pacing - especially the audio diaries.

Overall though, I think it's a solid 8/10 and am still scratching my head why the game got such low reviews.

Overall, it's not as bad as I initially thought, but it's still the worst entry in the series by far. I'd say this is a rental at best.

If you're not into the awesome multiplayer, that is.
Well, the hitch there is that AvP2 and even classic AvP both had far superior multiplayer, so it's hard for me to think of this as being all that "awesome".
