For those wondering why X-Men (the 90's animated show) appear on the list and video is they are refering to the Japanese opening. Don't believe me then check the openings below-

All I got to say is that the Japanese version of American cartoon show are misleading (e.g. compare to Transfromers Animated to the Japanese counterpart).
The whole intro video being the same got me thinking to which anime show if does not follow the rule/set up/ routine mention in the video at all? That is if it actually exist?

That was actually really funny to watch and almost as mind blowing as this one that shows how Disney reuses bits of their older movies


Still though, everything has stuff that's generic and I'd attribute anime openings coming off as generic since they all seem to use licensed J-pop music and that intros are generally made match up with the beat, and well, since most J-pop sounds the same I can't really be too surprised with the results.

Also, did he throw the death star explosion in there for a frame or two?

I've always liked those few openings that flout tradition in this (but yeah, the vast majority of 'em are so nonsensically same-y as to drive a man mad). Generally they're made with songs in English as well. One example:

It just goes to show anime as a genre is the same as anything else. It has it's style and conventions. It shouldn't be anything to get offended over. It would be like getting offended because movies use the same color filters to help set the tone of a scene depending on the emotional response they are going for.

It's actually pretty refreshing when something like this is brought up about anime, and the immediate and total response doesn't consists of hundreds of "anime is great, STFU!" comments.

Then again this thread is still pretty new. Anything could still happen.
