Well, it's over. Breaking Bad is finally over, and if I can say so myself, I do feel like it ended on a rather high note. Everything just felt right, from the way that Walter built a freaking machine that gunned down all of the Neo-Nazis, to the way that he blasted Jack mid sentence, to how he poisoned Lydia, it even had a little bit of humor with the final appearances of Skinny Pete and Badger. And the final death scene of Walter White...it just felt right for some reason. Also I enjoyed watching Jesse strangling Todd to death a LITTLE too much. But damn. This is the end of Breaking Bad. Walt's dead, Jesse is free, Skylar and Flynn look like they're set. This really does feel like the way to end a series. There's never gonna be another one like it, at least for awhile.

So, what did you think about it? Were you satisfied? Did you like the direction the ending took?

Glob... damn...

It's been a while since I've seen such a satisfying finale, let alone from a show that I have been following since watching the first two episodes for the first time on the Independent Films Channel (IFC).

So, what did you guys of The Escapist thought about the finale? Was it all worth it in the end? Do you think it could have ended differently and still feel like it fit within the tone of the series? And, now what are you going to do now that this show is finally over? (I know I have a barrel to buy for my birthday, I can tell you that...)

Hoo boy.
I *really* don't want to say this, usually when I'm hooked on something I don the rose-tinted glasses of "this thing can do no wrong" but I guess I felt a little... underwhelmed.
But I'm pretty sure it's just disappointment that my favorite show on TV is over rather than from the finale itself, that and I think it hasn't hit me yet. When the rest of my family goes to sleep and it's all quiet, it'll hit me.

Yeah, when I look on it I can't think of one thing that could possibly have been more appropriate than what I just watched. It wraps things up SO nicely and maybe that's why I'm not screaming from the rooftops.
I'm perfectly satisfied.

Oh forgot to add:
I really like how Walt went out. Oh, the legend may get distorted here and there, but no one actually killed Heisenberg.

It all ended on his terms.

As someone who has never watched Breaking Bad, I'm pleased that Brian Cranston can focus more on Godzilla 2014 now.

Post t.v. show existential-crisis mode activated.

So who's looking forward to Better Call Saul?

You mean press-wise? Godzilla finished shooting already I believe.

I won't judge you so long as you don't judge me for feeling the same way. I wanted that bastard dead so bad, it felt like it was right... and yet I really want a director's cut of Jesse working him over with that chain for another minute and a half... don't judge me!

I am in the same camp. I have never finished a television series from it's inception until its end while it was still on the air (I.E. - Didn't have to follow it on DVD or anything, so you must know from that statement I don't watch that much television, and I don't plan to any further, really).

I loved it, though. It ended as it needed to. Am I sad it is over? Absolutely, but it gave me everything I wanted: I wanted somebody to take out the Neo-Nazis; Jesse to have some kind of freedom; Walter to die and not pull some crazy Deus Ex Machina on us or something where he magically lives, which is what I thought was going to happen when the second half of the final season started, and I am glad my fears were put to rest.

I wish everybody on the Saul Goodman spinoff a wonderful time and I hope it is successful, but for me, I am done watching television, and I have only one thing to say about Breaking Bad and it's wonderful, pitch perfect final episode:

P.S. - Did the episode feel a bit rushed, or was it so fabulously well paced that I didn't notice?

I was slightly disappointed that there was no epilogue, but other than that I thought it was fantastic. I also watched the season finale of Attack on Titan tonight so I am a little fictioned out at the moment. Too many feels! Too many feels!

Jessie lives!

Honestly, I think Ray Donovan has a very real potential to be even better than Breaking Bad.

Anyway, and none of you will believe me, but I'm severely disappointed Breaking Bad didn't end as a prequel to Malcolm in the Middle.

It was a good and definitive ending nonetheless.

Obviously I liked it, but it was hardly the best episode. That's perfectly OK. of course. I didn't expect it to be. Besides, as a comment I saw on an article stated, "The finale has really been this entire season. This episode is just the explanation point at the end". And as finales go, this has been a damn good one.

Although if I had one complaint, it would be that Jesse didn't get a lot of screen time. In fact, I never really liked the way they handled Jesse in the last season. He and Walt just sort of drifted apart. I would've liked his role to be bigger.

That being said...Yeah. This one is gonna stick with me. I seem to be incapable of NOT listening to this song.

I'm quite happy how they ended the series. When they pulled the shootout cliffhanger ending with Jack's boys and Hank and Gomez I thought they were going to somehow weasel out. Glad they didn't. Also glad they didn't wimp out on the finale. If they had somehow allowed Walt to survive or not finally admit he did the things for his own benefit of feeling like a big man, I couldn't have respected the show. Really feel for Pinkman though, and am a bit sad we won't ever get to know what happens next for him.

Anyway I liked all the final season and am sorry the show is over. But we have Better Call Saul to look forward to, and for me Boardwalk Empire seems to have finally dug itself out of the mire it put itself into two seasons ago. Also a show called Peaky Blinders looks to be shaping up into something worth watching.

Was anyone else not convinced by Walter's confession of selfishness to his wife? Seemed to me like he just said it for her sake.
You know, I really did like the character of Todd. So innocent yet so warped and twisted. Makes a very good point about how your view of normal can differ vastly from others' if you ask me.

Overall I thought this finale was far far better than Dexter or Burn Notice, which is a shame because I really did enjoy those two series until near the end. It just wrapped everything up nicely, things seemed to happen the way they should have happened.

I'm deeply sad in the best way possible, and that's the absolute best outcome that I could ask for.

I know that ending the show now is the best way for it to end, but for a few days I'm going to be upset that there isn't any more to watch.

I was super late to the party, I've watched the entire series over the last month, and I loved every second of it, literally finished watching the second to last episode about 3 days before the finale.

Saying that, I was a little, underwhelmed? I dunno, just felt a little weak, but I suppose, that may have been the intention.

Walt didn't really go out with a bang, but more of a whimper.

If they don't gekko it, years. The manga is only a few volumes ahead of the anime as of now. If they gekko it, or manage to get the mangaka to give up the storyline of the manga before its out, probably around 7 months or so. But I'm guessing they arn't going to gekko it, since the mangaka is notoriously strict about how his story is used (the live action got cancelled because the screenwriter and he didnt see eye to eye.)
