Hypnosis works. I know people who are qualified to do hypnosis, and I have been hypnotised myself... heck I could in theory hypnotise people. It's just a little dangerous thats all.

I honestly can't believe people 'don't belive in it'. There are many documented cases of it working, and it is used all the time. It's proper science. It's like saying "I don't believe in Newtons laws of physics."

Major point here, Hypnosis works on the power of suggestion on the unconscious mind... So in a nut shell, if you don't want to be hypnotised, you can't. If you don't follow the Hypnotists instructions, you can't be hypnotised... There is also a percentage of people who can't be hypnotised for some reason or another.

Another point... DO SOME RESEARCH! RESEACH CHH CH- ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!

You see, I found that out with Derren Brown's audacious "hypnotize the nation" stunt. I didn't get stuck to my chair.
It makes you wonder what the point of hypnosis is if you can't use it for your own benefit...

No way would I want to be hypnotised. They'd probably use me for evil or something dodgy like that. You can never be to sure.

At my university we had the Hugh Lennon (I think) and the hypnodog perform. I wanted to volunteer because I was skeptical about the idea of hypnotism but it was sadly filled up in 5 seconds. But to the point it seemed like most of the people did actually get hypnotised as there was a moment when a guy actually fell off his seat and ran away when he saw the hypnotist "without any legs" and other expressions of surprise etc that seemed pretty genuine. Also at the end when asked how long they had been up there (3 hours) most of them said five minutes and were determined to get started, unaware that they'd been up for so long.

I'm still a bit skeptical and can't believe it until it happens to me for real, but there was around 40 volunteers at the stage within the first second so I doubt the ones that were hypnotised were actors.

Well they say you need to let yourself be affected by the power of suggestion that comes with hypnosis, so if you're not really trying to let it work then it probably won't-ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!

Hypnosis only works, if you want it to. That is if you don't want to be hypnotised, you can't be.
I've seen comedy hypnotisms and I believe that they work. I'm sorry but there is no way that 10 people would walk around acting like telly tubbies in a University! (Bloody hilarious by the way)

Regression, I'm not sure on. All I know is that it's a longer, deeper process.

Well, for what I know even while under hypnosis you can't be forced to do something in contradiction to your moral standards like kill yourself or others.
Although, if you don't have such things that could be a problem for you... or the others.

Well, the way I see it is, if that a vast majority of people believe in it in that, its a credible field of anything then there must be something behind it. People aren't complete morons right?

Religion ofcourse is the exception to the rule.

Hypnosis only works on people willing to allow it to happen to them. I dont think it would work on me personaly because i undestand a few methods of hypnosis, so i think i would be paying to much attention to what they are doing.
