Seems like a great marketing stunt, but on the other hand, it seems like they're gloating.

Next up they'll have a "who made gaming better competition" and it will be a charcoal briquette of flame wars.

Let's hope Valve avoids that slippery slope.

How long does this last?
The whole weekend.

OT: Wondering if I should buy Half-Life source for 5 ?. Though it will not happen since my desktop are fucked up and waiting to get fixed.

Don't have the courage to buy the game from a mac.

So tempting...but I will waiting for Episode three before diving in to avoid torment of waiting years to see it finished.

Install Steam, buy, don't download 'til your PC is fixed. :D

I already have The Orange Box and the Half-Life collection.

Good news for those who don't though.

55.8% off of what? Unless Valve is now paying people to download Half-Life, it's still not worth it, especially for those with bandwidth limits.

I wish I had a decent PC. Otherwise I'd get all the Half-Life games. Well, I have Orange Box for 360, so it's not all bad...
That's the thing.
Oddly enough, I can run all the Half-Life games on my computer... and I have trouble running an old game from 2004 on this thing.

That's a good deal, but it still doesn't beat the time Steam had The Orange Box on sale for $9.99 one weekend.

Best. Deal. Ever.

Too bad I already own the games. Every time I see that games I own are on sale for a really low price, I feel a need to buy the game, but I already have (bought it). Then I go and try to convince my friends to buy it cause it's such a good deal, but they never do (Except once, when I got my friend to buy TF2 when it was $10)

Now, two off topic things.

1) I LOVE these steam sales. I got Empire: Total War for $25, CoD WaW for $25, SF4 for $20, and Saints Row 2 for $7.50. I just love it when I've been saving up money for a game and then all of a sudden it's half off on steam.

2) I don't think that the original half-life has aged too horibly. Granted, it's no Modern Warfare 2 or other big, blockbuster FPS, but I still thouroughly enjoyed it. I was only able to play HL(1) recently because, well... I was only three when the game came out. Anyway, I don't think it has aged too bad. It may not be as innovative now as it was before, but it's still generaly fun.

Didn't need to install steam. Bought it just recently direct from Safari. Done and done.

Disclaimer: Now I have every single Valve game, as far as the the same packet on steam I think I got out even, maybe.

Half-Life; Source aside, can't wait for Black Mesa

I just joined Steam (Wow, I never thought I'd say that) and bought the Half-Life Complete pack for $21.99 (Never thought I'd say that either!). Half-Life is better than I expected.
Welcome to our big family ^^
