So, in this thread people were discussing whether or not Toonami would return to our televisions.
I feel that it could never happen, at least not without losing some of Adult Swim's lineup.
This made me wonder what shows are actually popular on AS, and what we'd all be happier if they were forgotten forever.

So what shows would you like to see gone from the channel?

for me, these can all go away:
King of the Hill
Family Guy
American Dad (I watch these shows, I just think they ought not be on the channel. Format issue over actual worth)
Inuyasha
Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim. Not a show in particular, just these human beings.
Drawn Together
Oblongs

Fuck the All-new Chevy Sonic

EDIT: as many have pointed out, Drawn Together is a Comedy Central program, not Adult Swim. That doesn't make it any better, but it is true their is no thread relevance in it.

- Well Family guy and american dad are on like 4 different stations now so yeah can drop it

- inuyasha still comes on?

- im not really a big fan of tim and eric it all seems like so much noise and colors. i guess it rolls with that appealing to a stoned audience AS has going for them

- when did drawn together come on adult swim

Adult Swim is more than Robot Chicken and Aqua Teen Hunger Force? American TV is weird, man...

I couldn't care less about Toonami.Yeah I watched it back as a kid, but once DBZ ended I lost interest. Though there may have been other shows I watched during it that I'm not remembering...

The only thing I want Adult Swim to bring back is Korgoth of Barbaria, or at least sell its rights to some other company. That show had so much potential.

Also, when did AS ever have Drawn Together in its line up?

I wouldn't consider that hipster at all to be honest, it speaks volumes for us when MLP attains a massive following just becaues it has a hint of the family oriented humor from cartoons which haven't been made/broadcast in 10 years despit massive support for them.

or me every live action show can go. Drawn Together and The Oblongs can get the fuck off the air as well, i like King of the Hill but it feels out of place on [AS]

that and..I dont know

I've never been into anime..but I get why people are...actual shows with actual storys and charachters and arc's and all that good stuff...like AVATAR the last airbender (the closest thing i ever came to anime as a teen) we need more shows like that

Im not againt humour (familiy guy is dumb but I cant deny is had occasionally made me laugh) but seriously...its not doing the medium justice

EDIT: this came from a promo I saw on this new digital channel called Mate7 (think basically frat boy type metality) it was called "animation nation"...and that was the line up

I never had a problem with The Oblongs
I agree with the rest but, like everyone elses' question, when did Drawn Together get to AS?
Maybe Toonami should just be its own channel?

Having Toonami back would be nice, but realistically I just don't see it happening, and even if it did it probably won't be the same Toonami that we all remember.

But regardless of that, I whole-heartedly agree that Adult Swim really needs to change its line-up. I barely watch it anymore; hell, I turn it on just to help lull me to sleep (yeah, I'm one of those people who can't sleep in complete silence. I dunno why but it bugs the crap out of me). Some of the stuff they have on there is so old that I doubt the majority actually care about them anymore (I'm looking at you Inuyasha and Cowboy Bebop!), let alone having stuff that's already on multiple channels.

Touché. Probably should have reworded that a little better. To me, I feel shows like Inuyasha have long since outstayed its welcome. I would rather like to see AS fill in those slots with some more new stuff.

Daria's one of my favorite shows (got the entire series on DVD) its actually even better eatching it as an adult because I understand the jokes...and the cultural setting at the time

but yeah....from my (limited) perspective western animation hasnt really been all that great since the 90's

though to be fair there has been some good stuff (I quite liked fairly odd parents)

Isn't Drawn Together on Comedy Central and not Adult Swim? I liked that show either way.

Time & Eric can fuck right off, same with that new Water-head News Reporter show (and most of their live action shit.)

I'll take Moral Orel and Mary Shellys' Frakenhole back. I loved those two. I liked Oblongs too. Inuyasha I never see cause it's on at like 3AM or some such, and I don't care enough to record it.

No, I am pretty sure the face of western animation is the same as it has always been.

They may not do a whole lot on TV, but their movies reach a far larger audience than any of those shows.

They can get rid of all that shit (except Venture Bros, ATHF and Squidbillies). Bring back Toonami dammit, I need my gundam and DBZ fix.

No... MLP attains a massive following because there are people who think if they like something that is culturally considered inappropriate for them that they are special and unique... same crap has been going on since the birth of civilization
Well either of our opinions can be considered valid, it just comes down to whether or not you're cynical or just pretentious (or both).

(Haven't watched MLP by the way).

it says nothing other than that people are still doing the same old shit in a different way
STOP LIKING THINGS I DON'T!
I haven't even watched the show and I can tell you right now that liking it has nothing to do with wanting to feel special and instead has everything to do with LIKING THE SHOW. And that is what has been going on for ages. A good show was made and people liked it, grow up and realize your indifference or hate towards the show does not mean the people that like it are somehow less than you.
