It has 40 times the caffeine content of normal coffee. FORTY TIMES.
Wait, forty times? That's like 4 grams per cup, at least. You overdose on, like, 300-400-ish milligrams (trembling, increased heartbeat, and so on). Well depends on the weight, of course. And 10g caffeine is known to be lethal or at least it's the LD_50 dose (lethal to 50% of the population). It still depends on body mass, but the more accurate LD_50 dose would be around 100-150mg per killo.

And looking at that article, it's not really mentioned to be forty, it only says "By my calculations, I produced the equivalent of 145 cups of conventional coffee?s worth of caffeine in 5.7 cups of volume." which would be roughly 25.5 times the caffeine.

Just going by what it says on the site. Even at 25.5x, that's still enough to keep you up all night bouncing off the walls :)

I'd say don't.. but if you must then play with friends. Having other people around or even over teamspeak will usually keep em up. If I'm playing on my own it doesn't matter how many energy drinks or coffee I consume.

Ah, yes, no doubt in that. A normal cup of coffee would have around 100-200mg caffeine, that's usually enough to wake you up for a while. Erm, usually is quite subjective here, of course (body mass, tolerance build up, etc) but all in all it should work. At 400-ish mg you OD, beyond that you would find it hard to sleep. And 25 times the normal amount would mean between 2.5 and 5 grams per a (similarly sized) cup. But even assuming you drink less than that (I'd personally pour myself less coffee if I know it's significantly stronger) that's still over a gram. You would be active.

The crash at the end...might not be pleasant, though. Accumulated sleep deprivation is nasty stuff. Well, not too bad if you have a day or two to get back on track but still I wouldn't really recommend it.

For "allnighters", I'd suggest actually having naps - 30-40 minutes or maybe an hour every once in a while (6-8 hours) would be slightly better - it would result in a more stable sleep cycle and more active productive time (it starts to suck hard once you get past a certain point with no sleep and you lose efficiency). Although, admittedly, it would take time to get used to it. It would probably be one of the worst weeks you've had (due to essentially being sleep deprived all the time) but once you adjust your sleep cycle it would work.

Don't play lying down. If anything, play in a slightly uncomfortable position. Otherwise, you will fall asleep.

While coffee can help in the early stages, drinking it in the morning will just make you awake enough to feel how tired you are. Do not drink coffee once the sun is up.

You may find yourself sucking at the game once you get tired enough. This is normal, and an expected consequence of not sleeping.

Eating protein and sugar can help you stay up. I recommend beef jerky.

Unfortunately, following my recent ass surgery I have to be very careful about my caffeine intake since even a small amount currently makes it feel as if I ingested several Habanero Peppers when coming out.

...Yeah.

Normally I would drink large amounts of NOS or Red Bull in addition to Mountain Dew (Code Red or Game Fuel, naturally), compounded by playing with friends and having the volume exceedingly loud. Luckily, I'm a night owl that can stay up into the wee hours of the night on a whim to begin with, making all-nighters or even two-nighters fairly easy.

And as a last resort or when I really want to stay awake, I'm prescribed Adderall and have little problem using it on an off day to keep me awake.

I'm planning on sleeping all day when the Wii U rolls round this weekend. It'll royally fuck my sleeping pattern, but I think I'm basically set there.
Oh, and I'll be out in -0 degree weather. So lot's of tea will be needed. Do the same if your in a cold environment.

Other than that? Bring a Game Boy or something. Use a WiFi hotspot if your near one or your phone can make one, and bring a companion if you can find someone as crazy as you.

That's all I got.

A big ole' slap in the face usually does it for me, ideally from someone else who doesn't tell you it's coming.

Because you're a terrible person.

Now think about what you've done.
So, buying my games online like you makes me a terrible person? That means YOU should think about what you've done. :3

Energy drinks are generally a bad idea. I find that the chemical imbalances created by staying up combined with energy drinks often lead to violent internal reactions. Just drink lots of water, like anything else.

Even if the coffee/energy drinks don't make you sick, they will give you the quick fix followed by a meteoric plummet. Drinking more will stave off the fall less and less, while increasing the odds of aforementioned illness.

As someone who LANs once a month and usually goes from 9am-8am the following morning, crash for two hours then 10-5pm, I can vouch that the whole "you'll damage yourself for days" thing is wrong. I usually hit the hay at about 10pm on the Sunday night, then get up at 8am and do a full day's work feeling no worse than if I'd stayed up until midnight without the all nighter. It won't make you any healthier, and it's certainly not going to kill you.

As for tips, fruit juice is a good one. In my experience, Caffeine basically keeps your fatigue level stable, as opposed to actually lifting you. That is, it won't make you feel any more awake, all it will do is stop you getting more tired. That said, as it wears off, you will start to drop more quickly than normal. They work, but how hard you push them is your choice, but keep in mind that you'll probably hit your B12 limit before you hit the caffeine limit, and neither of them are nice on the way back down. Fruit juice won't give you that same high, but something like orange juice is acidic enough to keep you awake without too much of a problem. If you can, get up and move about periodically. Go outside for a few minutes, walk up and down a staircase, get the blood flowing again. Getting oxygen into your system will keep you going as well.

When you wake up in the morning, fruit fruit fruit. You'll get something similar to a hangover if you top out on caffeine, fruit juice/actual fruit will get that bottom-of-a-bird-cage feeling out of your mouth pretty quickly. It also helps if your playing area is crash-friendly, a sofa or something rather than a high chair above a solid floor is always recommended.

Lastly, there's a breathing exercise that you can do, it won't clear fatigue entirely, but it tends to give me an extra hour or two:

Stand up, take a few deep breaths. Close your eyes and visualise an outline of your body, as though you're facing yourself. Fill the outline with a colour (I use blue, for example) and imagine that you're pushing a board down the outline, pushing the colour downwards. As you do it, imagine the fatigue leaving the parts of the body that aren't filled with colour, and draining line water from the tips of your fingers and your feet. Keep pushing down until you get past your fingers, then down your legs, and finally to your feet, all the while breathing deeply. When you're done, open your eyes and walk around for a few seconds. You won't feel perfect, but you'll feel better than you did previously.

Hope this helped!

So I pull all nighters about once a week. The biggest thing to make sure of is to keep doing something! Anything. writing, moving your hands, standing up for 10 seconds and stretching, etc. Sitting in one place makes it very difficult to stay awake if youre not used to it. I can pull all nighters pretty easily, but I usually start crashing around 10 in the morning. Once you get over the crash though, its easy sailing. Another thing I do is maintain elevated sugar levels by snacking on sugary things, like pop tarts, fruit cups, candy, and other sugary things. If youre prone to sugar rushes and/or sugar crashes, then don't do that cuz you will just knock yourself out. Same for caffeine. My body doesn't particularly get affected by caffeine so I can drink whatever sodas I want, but other people are very susceptible and crash after 30 minutes. So no matter what you do, if you know your body it increases the ease with which you can pull all nighters.

It's not that difficult at all OP. The next day won't be fun but as long as you are not too tired on the night and can chat to your buddies, it should be grand. I used to drink loads of coke, which meant I had to take a lot of bathroom breaks but that is incredibly unhealthy so avoid that.
