Come to think of it, I completely forgot about Shenmue 2. That game has all of my favorite scenes. I love the entire sequence beginning with the fight with Lan Di on the rooftop of some building in Hong Kong and the time spent in Guilin thereafter.

Also, I wanted to make a smartass comment about loving one of the sex scenes in games, but they're all quite lame really. I like the mini game in God Of War with it, but I'd really want it in something like fable or oblivion, but instead of the scene in fable right now, I'd just love to see them wake both smoking pipes asking if it was good for the other person. I'd enjoy that just on the basis of its cliche humor.

lets see......Bioshock was filled with incredible moments,I mean just fighting splicers almost seemed epic and tragic due to the sadness in their voices.Mass effect had a few scenes like if you left a team mate behind to set the nuke on virmire they just sit right beside it shooting geth hopelessly or the entire final level. Seriously. All the things that take place on the collapsing citadel even just getting out of the broken elevator and killing wave after wave of synthetics,it really griped me.Just as a footnote i'm a huge Mgs fan........yeah good scenes.(sorry for ridiculously long post)

Spoilers, but the type of thread already has that between the lines.

Votes for scenes already mentioned here:

Portal - The incinerator

Snake Eater - The ending sequence, it's the little details that make it even more heartbreaking that it already is. Anyone noticed how you can go to Snake's vision while saluting the grave and see his eyes getting all blurry?
Although the whole Eva with Snake thing...well, I'm a guy, so what would you expect?

My favorite scenes:

Zone of the Enders 2 - The sequence where Dingo enters Jehuty and it starts functioning. The music there is great. Plus the sequence after the final boss, quite a suspenseful with a great conclusion.

Persona 3 - Final boss to after that. Got stuck in my mind for days.

Disgaea - Knowing how Laharl's dad died. Hah.

Okami - The whole "Everybody has hope in you, so you get a powerful power up" scene in the end. Heck, I'm a sucker for those (Except in the anime Shaman King, that was so lamely done).

Omnimusha 3 - Intro video.

Boy, I wish I could recall better the games I have played.

The intro and end to Blade Runner ('98 version, not the '89 version). More precisely, the "Run away with Lucy" ending (out of the 13 endings, that whole last section moved me like nothing else).

*minor spoiler*
Winding up back on Citadel in System Shock 2.

Following Korenchkin and Diego's relationship in Shock 2.

Hell, most of any of the dramatic moments in Shock 2.

*spoiler*
Watching Rebecca and Tommy's pod blast off to safety (even without me) in System Shock 2.

I'll also third the "Darth Reven" notion.

The "Revenge!" screen from the Turrican 2 intro (Amiga of course, the graphics on the PC were embarrassing).

So many moments, but those should do for now.

Again, spoilers, you know the drill...

CoD 4

The AC130 gunship level - must be the best railshooter level ever.
The aftermath of the nuke.
Pistol scene at the end.

Bioshock

I know everybody always raves about the Cohen scene, and it was cool, but for me the meeting with Andrew Ryan was unbelievable. When he hands you the golf club and tells you to kill him, literally sends shivers down my spine. Excellent game, but I sort of stopped caring about the plot after that (and the WYK revelation obviously). I just didn't really care about Atlas.

Shadow of The Colossus

Just so much of it was awesomeness. I bought a PS2 just for that game, and I wasn't disappointed. Probably fighting the flying Colossi, plus the final scene as well.

Episode 2

The aforementioned death of Eli scene. Full on 'No Way!' moment.

KOTOR

You know the one.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

First time going down in to the tunnels, meeting first a bloodsucker, and then a controller. I nearly shat.

Going in to the reactor core itself (The Sarcophagus). By that point there was no actual game left, but it was just so atmospheric. I knew that if I went too far I would trigger the ending, so I just wandered around this devastated shell for about an hour, climbing all over, soaking it in.

Fable 2 might give you something like that, if Peter Molyneaux's to be believed.
Well, that's good to know. I'm going to get fable 2 no matter what. I really enjoyed the first game. So, even if Fable 2 fails to live up to the hype (like every Molyneaux product has so far) and turns out to be something almost exactly like the first fable with a new story and graphics, I'll still enjoy it.
That being said, who here remembers when the game was going to be called Epic, and was much darker and more immersive? Well, I still have the Official Xbox Magazine issue with the screen shots of an evil character who looked like a soul harvesting black knight complete with awesome black spiky armor.

Frankly, Most of my favorite scenes are from the Half Life series. The Flood helmet footage from Halo: CE was damn good though.

Father Gregori's Last Stand. A damn-straight zombie horde is bearing down on the guy, and he keeps on Laughing til the end, if he even dies (it's left ambiguous).

Alyx's injury. When she reaches out to you and whispers gordon's name. I remember Mashing buttons desperately to get to her. Killing those hunters later was enormously satisfying. What really makes me hate those hunters is the sense of almost playfull, curious intelligence behind those eyes. It's hard to blame the Striders and the Gunships, even the combine soldiers, since they seems so obediently robotic. But the hunters...you get the sense that they enjoy doing what they do.

Dog vs Strider. He RIPS OUT IT'S FRIGGIN BRAIN! What's more to love? Actually, I nearly liked the cinematic teaser trailer of that scene as much as the actual footage. the close up of d0g's eye narrowing...too cool.

MAJOR SPOILER:
Eli's death. I didnt cry or get choked up, but I felt like I might. the feeling of emptyness and loss...it was hard to understand how the story could continue. The final words between Eli and Alyx...

Plus, am I the only one who was deeply disturbed by the thrashing crawling of the injured Advisor?

Half Life 2 seems to be a popular one on here, but I've got to go with that for the two way tie...
1) When Barney throws you your crowbar at the beginning of the game and you remember how many fugly uglies you killed in HL1 with that sucker.
2) When you have to watch all your weapons disintegrate one by one...and your crowbar is the last to go. Getting the supercharged gravity gun and wreaking havoc makes up for it, but I definitely yelled at the TV when they took the crowbar.

Nup, that thing was screwed.

Oh bugger! How could I forget one of the most awesome beach landings ever. Saving Private Rodent in Conker Live And Reloaded. Conker wakes up dressed like a soldier in a boat and has no idea what's going on. A squirrel then vomits after he asks them. The door opens up and everyone gets blown to squirel heaven my Nazi Tedy bears or tediz. I love that game.

The Shalebridge Cradle

Decent game! Not as good as the previous 2 Thief games, but I gotta say; The Shalebridge Cradle was horror perfection in game form and definently worth playing through the rest of the game to see.

Freespace 2

The Colossus is going down, oh shit, the colossus is going down! As well as that final mission. That game was full of 'holy shit' moments.

And I'm going to have to also say Tempest Keeps The Eye in World of Warcraft. Hang me if you must, but one thing noone can deny is that Blizzard sure knows how to do an epic boss fight. Don't believe me? Here, watch and enjoy:

Fun fights, not much trash, and one helluva boss at the end. What more can you ask for from an MMO?

*SPOILERS*

You may call me and my friend "pussies" for this but both of us cried a bit at the end of Final Fantasy X. It was the most beautiful game I have ever played. I fell in love with the story. The kissing scene in the forest was romatic and possibly the most beautiful moment I have ever seen in a video game but the ending was just as beautiful. I felt my heart be pierced as Yuna indirectly killed Tidus. It was one of the most saddening things when he walks away and towards the edge of the ship and when she dives towards him to stop him she goes straight through him. I will say this one more time the whole game was beautiful even if it got extremely unbalenced when my friend gave me his profile when I got stuck and he had Anima kill the Ultima Machines with Overdrive in 1 hit. I have played FFX2 and hated it but it seemed like a good story.

Another great gaming moment was already said when you thought Alyx got killed in EP2.

Another was on Mass Effect when Kaiden (For me) was shot guarding the nuke before detonation and it showed his last seconds as him watching the Normady fly away.

First time playing through System Shock 2, following the two lovers' messages. I was constantly begging to not find one of them bloodied in a corner with one final message on him/her. (What happened to them, of course, wasn't much better...)
SHODAN's reveal when you find the real Polito was good too. VERY good.

(Weird one here) Final Fantasy 7, Nanaki finding his petrified father. I alone seem to find this scene more emotional than Aeris getting skewered by the generic prettyboy. Then again, I really hated Aeris (useless in battle), I kinda like Red XIII.

MGS3, Fighting The Joy. The entire battle had a beautifully etheral quality to it, as you play cat and mouse in a white flower field with the game's bond-styled title music playing in the background.

The first level of the Russian arc in the first Call of Duty. Extremely wonderful. (CoD4...I do not wish to play, because they clearly happily ignore that not only is Price way too old to exist today, he DIED in WW2. Or maybe his identical-but-younger clone hung around, hm? Bah. Stupid CoD4 pissin on my perfectly good nazi-killing fun and replacing it with more morally ambigous "ultranationalist"-killing)

Hmm...I had another, but I lost it. Ah well.

"Oh my GOD!"

"It's a Dyson Sphere!"

"A WHAT!?"

- Freelancer, the end battle.

People say that there were some remarkable moments in FFX, and I agree. However I believe the best FMV was the 'marriage' of Yuna and Seymour, and the former goes for a little jump.
