As I look through my history book, I've began to come to a conclusion about war. Its always that ONE GUY who thinks he is so much better than everyone. That one little asshole that thinks he is always right. Examples of that ONE GUY is Hitler, Osama Bin Laden, Benito Mussolini, etc.

In reality, no one really once to die. Its just that assholes like these people garner lots of friends and thats when the shit hits the fan.

That's politics for ya. Most of the time however, it's not the sense of pride that starts wars. The Civil War was started because the Southerners felt that their very way of life was being threatened.

America entered the first world war because they felt threatened by Germany when they recieved the Zimmerman Telegraph from England.

It's never really one guy, there's always factors, WW1 is an example of that, Germany wanted to expand, they started to make more alliances, so other people did, people got assasinated.

It's like going insane, shit builds up untill everything just breaks loose.

War was always caused by human indifference. Some person or some group sees another and finds their opinions wrong in their eyes and decides to kill them for it. Its sort of sad really.

The Black Hand seemed to be more than one person. And they lucked out, they weren't even blamed for the war (that much) instead Germany was blamed under Article 231 of the Treaty of Versailles, also known as the "War Guilt Clause."

That one however was more because Wilhelm II loved battles and war, but the current prime minister at the time was convincing that there was no need for war. So Wilhelm II had Otto Von Bismarck resign. That also was around the time of the Scramble for Africa.

If all the children on the playground played nice, then that "one asshole there" would be ignored. As is, he usually is just the straw the breaks the camels back.

Clearly you have read your history books completely wrong... Or you are doing basic history. It's always a group of people or a nation. Not one person caused a war...

Fuck your Archduke Franz Ferdinand I'll give you a couple o' reasons why he didn't start the war!

Sorry if any of that came across as rude... Not how I meant it to be.
really? name one war that didn't happen because some asshole started spouting bullshit about elitism or something.

I don't think it's that cut and dry. A single person wont be able to come to power unless his/her society backs them in the first place.

Bin Ladin didn't think he was better than everyone else. He thought his religion was better than other religions (a common religious thought) and, more importantly, he thought that the US was worse than anyone else. The attacks on the United States were because of our bombings of Iraq's (a muslim nation) civilian water supply, as well as our following embargoes and blockades- all of which together accounted for about a million civilian deaths in the Middle East.

He did make a major mistake in attacking civilian populations though. By doing that, he proved himself no better than his enemy.

That's not indifference, that's intolerance. Though indifference leads up to the war, as people refuse to do anything about growing problems until beliefs are too divided between too groups that they become intolerant of the opposite group. Then conflict emerges.

Ok...you have a point there. Probably not all wars, but a good majority of them.

Most of the time, yeah, pretty much.

Some of the time it's just the principle of "the more people you put in a room, the lower the average IQ."

If we could find a way to stop that, we'd stop a lot of problems from even beginning.
