Nah, not really... It's about right, all things considering. There's not a lot of entertainment for Essex, and LulzSec are basically ChavScum with a laptop... It's just the top hats threw us all off, they should have been burbury...

Im really beginning to think this is another false-flag attack..

You have to admit, its pretty convenient that this group goes out and steals alot of private data, for fun/lulz even, all while theres so much talk about internet security and privacy..

This will only make the stupid sheeple outrage and demand that internet should be heavily monitored and censored because of this..

"Oh no! They call it Operation Anti-Security and they steal all our private data! We need security!"

From the LulzSec twitter feed:

"LulzSec The Lulz Boat
Seems the glorious leader of LulzSec got arrested, it's all over now... wait... we're all still here! Which poor bastard did they take down?"

I thought the purpose of a census was to count everyone not just a supposedly random smattering of people. Least here in the states that what a census is used for. What you described sounds very eerie, like Third Reich part 2 eerie. There's no reason to hide an upcoming census from the people if it's just a normal data collection on the entire populace, it works counter to idea that you want people to know so they can be counted.

I rant though, I make no attempt to fool myself into understanding the political workings of other countries. If history class is any indication though I could see where the people would be nervous about censuses in Germany; especially shifty ones like that.

OT: It would be nice to think they actually caught one of the members but we know even if LulzSec admits to it they'll only see it as a galvanizing recognition by the government.

Frankly I think if people stop paying attention to them they'll grow bored and go away.

Lets hope they keep it up. Put them all behind bars!
Meh you do realize all that would do is place them in a white collar prison, and then 6 months to 2 years. Then once they're out they'll gain 6 figure salary.
Oh, I see. Do you suggest we do nothing and let them keep hacking freely?
Don't know what the punishment will be but the ones they caught in Spain are facing three years if found guilty. These guys have hacked tons of government websites and are guilty of major identity theft). If they'd only get your forecasted sentence I'd be really dispointed.

As for the salaries... We can just hope the employers are clever enough to check their crime records(which they usually do as far as I know).
Yeh it's pretty much what akisa said, a lot of hackers that have gained this much atention usually get pretty good jobs when they get out of jail. Also you can deny a lot of the stuff you get acused for since it's hard to prove.

You could fine them ungodly amounts of money, companies tend to hire straight from the prison for these type of individual. At least that was the case in the 2000s.
