I've stayed awake for roughly 24 hours and i've got a VERY busy day tomorrow
job,films,pub and a lan party
any tips on staying awake to survive it all?
Basically always be doing something. If you take a break from anything, it's highly likely you'll just crash out completely. It doesn't have to be physical, just something to keep you occupied and not thinking about how tired you are.

Also, I've found it helps if you keep eating or drinking something. It's a similar idea to the last one, but if you keep absorbing energy your body will find it that much easier to stay awake.

Ok here is what do when I need to pull an all nighter:

1. Drink tons of water, coffee, and get tons of energy.

2. Make sure you're always doing something that keeps the mind going: surf the web, play a game for a little bit, watch some TV, etc.

3. Every few hours give yourself ten minutes to relax, but don't relax to much. Try resting your eyes, and if possible, set an alarm on your phone or something just in case.

4. Engage in conversation somehow, whether it be on XBOX Live if you do that, texting someone or if your hangning with friends.

5. Don't zap all your energy, but make sure you are not completely sedintary or you will just want to fall asleep.

Hope that helps.

Yeah, I do have a suggestion: go to sleep, you idiot. How in the hell could playing video games in the middle of the night be worth going to work on no sleep whatsoever?

Food helps, for energy, as does caffeine.
Try drinking a lot of water; this is especially helpful if you are planning on working at a desk at all, because it forces you to get up for the bathroom at regular intervals. Wash your face with cold water and DON'T LIE DOWN. Ever. Not even "Just for a little while".

Have one of your coworkers pour cold water over your head every few minutes.
Made me laugh.

Keep moving, being still is your death. Or you can get someone to pleasure hurt you every now and then.

You can't, it isn't possible. You just have to power-nap every chance you get. You don't even have to fall asleep, just lie down somewhere and try to imagine your batteries recharging. It works wonders, at least for me.

If that fails, go to plan b. Get your hands on some roofies. Take one, and very quickly rig every door in your immediate area with buckets of ice water, so that if anyone opens them, they will be soaked. Why the roofies? For the element of surprise.

Play ridiculously intense videogames. Sauerbraten's a brilliant place to start, go play it now.

Keep yourself stimulated. Ever seen Crank? Think of it like that, except less extreme. If you slow down too much, you fall asleep.

kick yourself in the shins every now and again. Generally works for me.
Either that or copious amounts of apples

I already saw someone who posted this, but 5-Hour Energy worked for me, also. Natural tired feeling and everything. If anything, I think it makes me a little gassy. Well, gassier. Lol. I've also heard of this other energy drink called FRS Healthy energy or something. A guy who makes videogame playthroughs on Youtube put up a quick review of it recently. Search for THEKINGOFHATEHD, and look for Phil's DSP Tries It video about it. Shouldn't take too long.

He's pretty funny if you want to play a game, but are not sure about it. He uses a camera instead of a capture card so the audio is live and he doesn't have to edit commentary over the footage. He's not the best gamer in the world, and complains quite a bit, but he's VERY funny. Check him out. Peace.

I believe meth lets you stay up for about a week, but I can't recommend it since it will mess up your teeth. Try mixing caffeine pills in an energy drink.

Sleep while you still can, obviously. Unless it's half an hour.

I went to Cedar Point [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cedar_Point] (Hyperlinked for those who aren't familiar.) once with only a half an hour of sleep, and I'm fairly certain it made me more tired than if I were to not sleep at all.

If sleep isn't an option, well... keep yourself busy. If you're tired enough, you won't even realize you've passed out on your couch when you go to take a sit for a minute or two. (This has happened to me. I remember waking up, but not falling asleep. Feels weird man.)

Using willpower to keep yourself awake should work too. Don't ever dwell on thoughts like "Oh man, I'm tired as ffffffuuuu-" or "I could really use a lay down now." The less you think about how tired you are, the less tired you'll seem. Mind over matter, my friend.

Keep your mind active, keep doing stuff, don't sit down and relax, absolutely no sex (actually I just saw LAN party so forget I said that...), and minimise the time you spend looking at screens as much as possible. If you do it right you won't even need the caffeine.

adrenaline, long periods of a small continuous doseage (naturally ofcourse :p the drugs is 1-hard to get 2-illegal w/o being given by a hospital 3-expencive as hell.) a good mix of fiber, suger, protien in food, as little starch as possible. keep your mind working, fast and/or hard, small excerisze, ie, walk around your local area, listening to hard rock, or faced-paced techno.

i'm an insomniac, so it's not a problem for me :p i'm also a natural night owl, and only need a couple hours sleep every day or 2, apparently i function fine w/o alot, or almost any XD

I disagree with these caffiene sayers. That shit'll hit you hard in the lan.

Bonsaiks wrong on the screens. The light from the screens wakes up your brain.
ginsig is the way to go, it's more natural, and the fall from that boost is softer, and your able to keep going, unlike suger or caffiene
