Eric Reid

Name: Eric Reid

Age: 25

Gender: Male

Class: Sniper

Equipment: X-26 Arlington Sniper Rifle w/ X-Ray sight including magnification- The x-26 Arlington has become the standard among IM snipers in recent years. While lacking the range of some of its larger counterparts, its lightweight and size allow for deployed IM snipers to shoot and relocate as necessary, especially in combat. The weapon comes with a pair of stabilizer legs built in, allowing for IM snipers to perform their role in the more traditional sense as well. The rifle is also capable of utilizing different rounds as necessary by the sniper.

Foxtrot .45 caliber pistol - A standard .45 pistol with 12 round magazine.

Standard incendiary grenade

Rank: Corporal

Personality: Eric is a bit of a joker, who probably plays harder than he works. He?s been verbally reprimanded in the past for ?not taking the job serious?, but no written reprimands have ever been brought due to his field ability. He enjoys cracking jokes, even when going into hot zones, making him both a blessing and a curse to his superiors as it keeps the men loose at the right times, but they fear he does it at the wrong times. While working, Eric is all business, but has more than once come over the radio to announce a kill before taking a shot. Some say he has a chip on his shoulder and is out to prove something; Eric has no feelings on that one way or another. Otherwise, Eric is extremely proud of his work as a sniper. He feels that he?s able to keep eyes on his teammates at all times and takes special care to ensure the continued existence of those under the care of his scope and trigger finger.
Appearance: Eric stands roughly 6 foot, and just under 190 lbs. His short cut dirty blond hair is within military regulation, but he always keeps it ?just at?, as he has never been a fan of the ?bald wannabe? look. His face is a bit thinner, and youthful looking, having a bit of a baby face, his friends often joke with him about when he is finally going to start shaving. His eyes are a quiet, hazel gray with a blue hint to them, just enough to give them a little color. His favorite explanation of them is ?morning after a storm?. His body is tight, but not overly muscular; it seems to fit his form rather well but nothing he considers writing home about. He prefers the light nexus armor over the medium grade because it provides him the increased mobility he likes to increase the distance between him and his targets in a fire fight and get to cover so he can work better. His armor is a dark royal blue color, in tribute to the oceans of his home planet. His helmet is more reminiscent of a skull cap, just enough to cover his helmet which comes with an attached scanner for to help pick out targets and compensate for wind resistance during long shots.

Bio: Eric was born on the world of Gresina, a world covered by approximately 75% water. It?s a relatively new world, but maintains strong ties with the governments back on Earth and has enjoyed a boost in tourism recently by expressing the beauty of the oceans, something the people of the planet have come to take to heart. Eric grew up living along the water of the planet and always had an affinity for it. He also grew up listening to the stories of his father, a former IM as well, of all the good times he and his buddies had in the Marines. When Eric turned 18, his father was proud when he decided to join the Interstellar Marines, but surprised when Eric had selected to become a sniper. Eric always joked ?I hate actually being shot at, but if I can shoot at them and they can?t hit me, why would I do anything else?? Eric was never anything more than an average soldier, but his abilities seemed to come naturally, albeit unrefined. Having served in two other regiments since graduating from sniper school, Eric has only earned one promotion mostly because of his laid back and casual attitude. When word came of the attack on Alpidal, Eric jumped at the chance as a way to prove his abilities further and hopefully earn himself another promotion in the long run.

Let me know if there are any changes that need to be made, or suggestions you have. I'll do my best to post again tonight. Thanks for the consideration.

This is a suggestion rather than a necessary change, which I think would benefit you more than anyone, but I'd recommend going with the X-Ray scope, as being able to pick out enemies from behind walls is an invaluable ability for a sniper. That's not to say that thermal won't come in handy either, I just think X-Ray would suit you better.

It's your choice, and nice sheet, very nice to see a sniper who doesn't fit the "strong, silent" archetype.

That's probably a good idea. I went back and forth a little, but with your recommendation it's probably a good idea in the end. I'll go ahead and make the change. Thank you for the compliment too.

Name: Jon Shannow

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Class: Warfighter

Equipment: Jon wears the heaviest model of armor available, and replies on it's sheer physical reinforcement to make up for the lack of agility. Rather than avoid fire, he fully expects to be able to soak up whatever they throw at him, then give back more than he took.

And for this job, Jon is supremely equipped. Built into his armor is the KRS-15 'Boyscout' Combat System, so named for it's massive variety of destructive modes, "allowing the wielder to be prepared for any circumstance". It fires varying sizes and types of ammunition, form anti-personal to shells capable to damaging light vehicles. The rate of fire varies appropriately.

This weapon is so heavy that Jon is unable to carry a second weapon, though the servo-motors in the suit give him considerable physical power, should an opponent every get so close
The suit aids aiming of the weapon, and compensates for the weight of the barrel, which when active, folds out to extend form the bottom of the forearm, and when inactive folds into the shoulder-mounted ammo supply

Jon carries a set of EMP grenades, designed to short-circuit and fuse any tech caught in the 2.5 meter radius.

Rank: Sergeant

Appearance: Jon defies the stereotype of the typical Warfighter; while moderately tall, he is slim, almost feminine in build, striking a rather obvious contrast to his colleagues, none of whom weigh less than 200lbs out of armor. However, his suit goes a long way to make up this, bearing powerful servo-motors that more than make up for the difference in strength

Jon's hair is long-ish and ginger-brown in color, and his face is lean, with high cheekbones, a generous quick-smiling mouth and quizzical eyebrows above grey-green eyes.

Jon's suit helps him fit in with the others, raising him to almost 7 feet in height and bulking out his frame, though he still looks slim compared to the other Warfighters. The suit is colored a deep red with white markings, comprises of layers of vehicle-grade armor over the servo-motor undersuit, and features a wraparound helmet built directly into the suit. The entire edifice is active during the process of donning the suit; Jon wouldn't be able to lift the shoulder plates on is own

Personality: Quick of mind and mouth, no one ever believes that the sarcastic guy on the comms isn't just one of the scouts having a laugh until they see him put away the Boyscout and climb out his 7-foot suit. He's a a willing friend to anyone who hasn't proved otherwise, and is irrepressibly optimistic, even in the worst of situations.
Jon is suspected by many to be gay, but he has yet to clarify. It seems he is taking more than a little enjoyment out of the confusion he causes

Bio: Born on Earth, Jon never really had an aim in life. His intellectual powers allowed him to glide smoothly through his schooling with little to no effort, and he barely paid attention to where his life was headed; wherever he went, it seemed, he could fit into the system, bend it where he could, and end up living the good life.

His father, a veteran Marine, decided a time int he army would do him good and get a bit of backbone into him, so Jon went to boot camp, where his father had used his connections to get him assigned to Warfighter Section, figuring that it would be a kill or cure experience.

Against all odds, Jon flourished, passed with flying colors and headed off for active duty. Friends and family back home didn't know whether this was an attempt to escape, or just a perverse act of spite against his father, but Jon began to rack up commendations and honorable mentions for suicidal acts of bravery.

Coincidentally, he grew a little more cautious after the death of his father, but his reputation for going above and beyond the call of duty got his recommended to the Alpidal mission

I'd like to make sure you understand that the armor isn't like Iron Man's, and is more like shitloads of kevlar than a robot suit. However, the servo-motors are acceptable.

The "Boy Scout" weapon seems a tad overpowered, with the ability to switch ammo types, and rate of fire. That basically makes it a hybrid of every available weapon. I was conflicted after reading your sheet; while I appreciate the creativity you put into the weapon, it also defies all the norms. I'll let you keep it if you change it so it's not a part of your armor, and add some restrictions to its versatility.

Otherwise, I like your sheet very much. Very unique.

Alright, the sheet is finished! Here's hopin' I get in!
My only complaint is that a pistol which can instantly kill whatever it points at is overpowered. If you're set on the railgun pistol, you can balance the weapon by making it difficult as hell to aim, having to recharge for fairly long periods of time, or having low amounts of ammo.

I like your bio, by the way.

Looks awesome dude. : D

I'll take a reserve if thats ok, I'd like to be a medic.

Edit: Actually cancel that, seeing as Xero's is a really good medic one I'll be a scout instead.
Still I'd like you to respond before I make a sheet.
I didn't realize you were waiting on me, sorry. And thanks for switching to scout, that will help a lot.

You officially have a reserve.
ly have a reserve.[/quote]

Sorry, had to snip all that. Anyway, Railgun is now balanced.

All right, that's okay. Just keep in mind that you will not be able to kill an opponent in heavy armor with one shot from the pistol.

EDIT: Unless, of course, you hit them in the visor/exposed vital spot.

Name: Alice Dujour
Age: 21
Gender: Female
Class: Scout
Equipment:
Kreyarko K-12 Submachine Gun
A lightweight and reliable weapon, the K-12 is a submachine gun which borrows heavily from the designs the Heckler and Koch weapons of 20th century and can fire 1000 rounds a minute. It is the standard weapon of SRA squad leaders and scouts.
Nath 10 Pistol
Standard sidearm of SRA soldiers. While it doesn't have the sheer power of other modern pistol designs the Nath 10 makes up for this with an 18 round magazine and being very easy to use and handle.
Rank: Private
Appearance: Alice has blue eyes, has shoulder length white hair and is tall and slender.
In combat she wears light armour painted white and no helmet but wears a balaclava which conceals most of her face, she developed the habit of not wearing one during her days in the SRA Banshees, who wore very little protection for maximum mobility.
However she does wear a green visor which features a built in comm link and night vision, as well as a heads up display.
Personality: Alice is generally kind and approachable, but is quite sarcastic and is something of a pessimist.
Alice sees knowledge and planning as the solution to any conflict, largely because of this idealogy being instilled into her during training. She'd rather think out problems and solve them than attack them head on. While willing and able to if necessary Alice particularly dislikes killing and tries to avoid it if possible, though combat situations don't often give peaceful options.
Alice is also particularly fond of late 20th century music and photography.
Biography: Alice was born on Earth but raised on the colony of Savo. She grew up in a peaceful existance with her family whilst the global political situation began to change dramatically. While she was too young to know of its importance the planet fractured into several independant states, the two most powerful of these being the highly militant Northeastern Secessionist Union (NSU) and Alice's homeland, which remained true to the old ways and reformed itself into the Savo Republic (SR).
When Alice was a teenager the Savo government became increasingly paranoid with internal insurections and increasingly fearful of open war with the Secessionists. Many restrictions on Savoan citizens were established, including curfews. Riots increased and civil unrest became more and more apparent, as did government atrocities. Once as she was walking to school Alice saw several homes being raided and suspected terrorists being lined up against a wall. An SR soldier took her away as several gunshots rang out.
The paranoia of the government and fears of everyday existance became increasing apparent to Alice in her once innocent and care free life. Once bustling areas of congregation became devoid of anyone. Savoan Republican Army posters lined the hallways of schools and universities as guards began to search children and the elderly for weaponry and the government imprisoned anyone suposedly having anything at all to do with any outside influence.
The Savo Republic cut off all trade and communications with other worlds in a desperate attempt to keep control and prevent alien influence and the economy deteriorated in all areas except for militarily. All Alice wanted was for herself and her family to leave the planet but fees were enormous. With no way to earn money her two brothers and her sister joined various branches of the military. With all the violence in the streets and with people killing strangers over whatever money or food they had the military was strangely the safest place to be. A few months later Alice turned 16, lied about her age and joined the army, thinking that because war had not yet broken out with the NSU she wouldn't be sent to serve in any major conflict and would be paid enough money to get off world before that would happen. A week later Savo declared war on the Northeastern Secessionist Union when an ally of Savo's was attacked by them. The Savo government overestimated its military abilities and ordered a complete invasion of the NSU. Alice was pulled out of training and put into a specialist unit of soldiers known as Banshees, special operations units who used speed, stealth and superior technology to defeat their enemies. At first it was successful, but Savo faced more than their new enemy, Savo was extremely cold, the NSU territories even moreso, and the worst winter the planet had ever seen was approaching.
When the winter came the NSU regrouped and launched a massive counter attack, intent on pushing out the invaders. The SR ordered a retreat of all forces as they simply could not combat the weather and the superior numbers of the NSU forces at the same time. Alice was at an extraction point awaiting an evac chopper which never arrived and her entire platoon was wiped out by the NSU save for a few members. She and the other survivors decided to head towards the remaining evac points, but had to get through a blizzard to do so. Despite being mere feet away from each other Alice became separated from the others. With no sense of direction she decided that if she were to end up back in NSU territory she would surrender as soon as possible, so long as she didn't freeze to death.
However luck was on her side, after a few days she ended up wandering into one of the last SRA evac sites. She collapsed as soon as she realised where she was and was taken back to Savo.
She was in a Savo hospital a few days later when she learned a group of rebels had overthrown the government and negotiated a truce between all the countries of the planet, as well as calling to the rest of the humanity for assistance. An Instellar Marines force arrived distributing humanitarian aid to Savo. The rest of humanity was shocked at what Savo had become, nevertheless the country had produced many great soldiers which were asked to join the IM. Alice thought that she would like to continue her career as a soldier but this time through choice, not necessity, and has been with them ever since.
But even now 2 years later and with outside assistance Savo still hasn't rereached the heights of its past.

Sorry about the length, kinda went crazy there : D
Lemme know if theres anything I need to change, particularly the no helmet and shoulder length hair bit.
I just wanted to sort of give the sense my character comes from a different world in a way, but its ok if it needs to be changed.

Edit: Visor thingy added.

I suppose that shoulder length hair is okay seeing as your character comes from a different military than the IM, but you need to have some form of HUD and radio. You could have something in a similar vain as Garrus's eye piece if that sits well with you.
Otherwise, you're good to go.

EDIT: Perhaps add the helmet/visor/whatever you come up with as something that Alice begrudgingly accepts after EIC command insists that she wear one?

Name: Corporal Wu Zhong

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Class: Medic

Equipment: Wu's packout consists of light armor, 1 standard-issue SMG, 1 standard-issue automatic pistol, 1 tear gas grenade, 1 standard-issue medic utility belt containing 30 units bio-gel, 2 jet injectors w/ replacement canisters of non-addictive synthetic morphine, 6 dispensers nanobot surgical spray, 2 handheld surgical lasers, 1 standard-issue pack containing 1 keyhole surgery module w/augmented reality interface, conventional first aid materials and bandages, rations, MREs and a small array of evac beacons with limited AI, enabling them to maintain radio contact with the nearest dropship and monitor patients' vitals and enemy movement in the immediate area until rescue.

Rank: Corporal

Personality: A devout Sufi, Zhong nonetheless enjoys a drink and a smoke as much as the rest of the unit. He is neither naive nor morbid, but the horrors of war have taken their toll: he avoids trading war stories with anyone but fellow medics and does not enjoy seeing his brothers-in-arms outside of deployment. Changes in interplanetary law have also rendered him the unit's designated human rights observer, and as such he maintains a professional distance from most of the unit - particularly Eric, who he sees as callous and potentially trigger-happy.

Appearance: Well, see for yourself.

Bio: Zhong's parents were amongst the first interstellar pioneers, having volunteered for China's Great Celestial Exodus of 2340. While they settled on Savo seeking prosperity and a safe place to raise a family, the eruption of civil war soon put an end to such dreams. While neither his mother nor father had political ties, their refusal to perform medical experiments on Republican POWs saw them blacklisted from working in government-run hospitals and his father's attempt to go into private practice was cut short when a secessionist militia burned down his offices overnight.

While many of Zhong's friends were radicalised by the conflict, Zhong's parents begged him to stay neutral and sent him off-world to study at Medina. When Savo's embargo cut off both his family and his funds, Zhong had little choice but to join the IM in order to pay his tuition fees. Since then he has served as a peacekeeper and seen war on Earth and all its colonies - all except Alpidal.

I figured an extra medic would be acceptable given that they're going directly into a disaster zone and it might be necessary to work with any humanitarian organisations in the area. Is that okay?

The unit which the players will take part in has not met before this mission, so the most your character knows about the others is what's in their bio and equipment section. You should quickly edit your post, keeping that in mind.

You don't need to write specifically how many canisters of bio-gel you have, as keeping track of how many you've used and have left will become a nuisance, trust me. It will be assumed that medics have an infinite amount (same goes for bullets).

Medics aren't really equipped to perform surgery out in the field; that's what the medi-gel is for. So while it's perfectly fine to have a character who knows about surgery, having them practically equipped to do so at any time is improbable.

Looks good. Updating your sheet.

We are currently waiting for underscore_b and threewords to complete revisions, and then we can get this thing started. Though if they neither respond or complete their revisions by... say, 8:00 tomorrow, I'm going to start without them.

Thanks for the heads-up; I wasn't seriously thinking of keeping track of canisters, just trying to get in the mood :)

I understand what you mean about equipment/trenchcoating but I was going by your outline in the op: "The Medic receives bio-gel, which can heal minor bullet and burn wounds (No regenerating lost limbs)." I figured if the bio-gel only works on surface wounds and the medic is basically an EMT with a gun, he'd need at least a bit of equipment for things like resetting bones and stabilising internal injuries until they can get to safety. They'd certainly pack anaesthetic and sterilizing spray at any rate.

I've rejigged the other things but if you insist I can certainly drop the additional equipment. Rest assured though I wouldn't be doing any "I retrieve all 23 bits of his mangled corpse and miraculously bring it back to life in the middle of an active firefight". :D

He carries the KRS-15 'Boyscout', so named for the fact that it "allows the wielder to be prepared for any circumstance". It functions either as a minigun, firing a hail of antipersonnel bullets, or as a railgun, launching huge metal slugs at around Mach 2. Changing modes requires a second as the internal mechanisms realign
The weapon is so heavy that Jon is unable to carry a second weapon, though the servo-motors in the suit give him considerable physical power, should an opponent every get so close

The suit is colored a deep red with white markings, comprises of layers of vehicle-grade armor over the servo-motor undersuit. The servos actively aid the process of donning the suit; Jon wouldn't be able to lift the shoulder plates on is own

I cut out the robo-suit bits, and made the Boyscout a minigun/railgun combo, with a delay between modes.

Bio-gel is not solely for surface wounds, as bullets have the potential to penetrate very deeply. It's just that if a character is hit across his body by an explosion, or snaps his arm in half, then that's a problem that bio-gel can't solve. The first aid kit contains stuff like splints and bandages, and anesthetics, so all of that is fine to have. I'm mostly concerned about the surgical lasers, as medics aren't doctors. I assure you that everything you will need comes with the medic package.

The beacons are a tad superfluous, but they break no rules, and may end up being important to the narrative, who knows.

I can't wait, as well.

By the way, did you draw the picture in your sheet yourself?
