I've never played DA:O
I want to, and the thirty dollar price tag on XBL is really taunting me.
All the reviews i see tell about how inferior the 360 version is though! All i want to know is if it's still worth playing on the xbox.
Playing it on the computer isn't an option, my computer pretty much cant run anything with 3d graphics...

Depends. Dragon Age's gameplay is similar to KotOR on the original Xbox, so it kinda depends on what your opinion is on character management and scripting. Still, the best parts of DA:O are mostly in the story.

I played it on both consoles, and you definitely want the 360 version.

Whatever VERY SLIGHT improvements the PS3 might enjoy in the graphics themselves, the framerate is far worse. On the 360, the framerate is very smooth, but on the PS3 it stutters noticeably all the time, to the point where it's so distracting it's unplayable.

Have no fear, the 360 version is the superior one overall.

EDIT: However, I wouldn't recommend getting it on XBL. You can certainly find a physical copy for less in a store. I doubt the XBL version comes with ANY of the DLC.

It most certainly is worth playing on the 360! I thoroughly enjoyed playing it and all the DLC for it, and the expansion, and never regretted it for a second.

This.XBL is a rip off. Most of those games can be bought cheaper in stores.I've seen DA:O brand new for ?15(about $20)or there's the Ultimate edition out now that has all the DLC included

I played it on the 360 and found it quite enjoyable. Although i highly suggest you go for the option of having it on the disc and then install it to your 360 hard drive.

In fact, what I would do is I would very strongly recommend simply waiting for the Ultimate Edition to drop in price. You definitely want the whole experience. (Actually, I'd recommend simply getting it now at full price, but if cost is an issue, it's worth waiting for.)

Sounds like the physical copy is the way to go! I forgot about all the DLC.
I've got a best buy giftcard and some money.
Sounds good.
Thanks guys!

First off, if you're going to get it you can get a physical copy for much cheaper. I don't know if you're from the EU or not but play.com is selling the Ultimate Edition (game + all DLC + expansion) for about £20 so I'd buy that if I were you.

Second off is it any good or not... that's a tough one and I made a whole thread dedicated to that notion many a month ago. Let me put it this way, did you play Mass Effect? Did you like ME more than ME2? Then odds are you'll like Dragon Age: Origins.

As for me the whole thing felt too disjointed. The gameplay was boring (constantly pausing breaks immersion big time), the characters were copy/pastes from the big Tolkein book of tropes, and the equipment menu was a major pain in the ass. But then people always say "the story is the best part" but even then I couldn't really get into it. Your main character has to pick from a set of dialouge choices and there are no vocals for your char despite picking a voice on creation. Some people say it's so you can imagine yourself being the character but that's a poor excuse, Mass Effect wouldn't have done nearly so well if it wasn't for Shep's awesome vocals/expressions/personality. I don't like picking from an excel sheet and then playing make believe my char did something cool, it feels less "video game" and more "tabletop d&d" only without all the fun parts.

That's not my problem! I'm sure i would like the game, however, i've heard that the xbox version is inferior. I was wondering if that would be a deal breaker and make it a bad game!

That and it's cheap now, which is a plus.

Again though, it needs to be said, you're probably better off getting the Ultimate Edition.

The regular version only comes with like one of the DLC packs, so if you plan on getting the rest, you'd still need to spend more money, plus there's Awakenings, which is also very good. All told, you'd still end up spending about as much as if you just got the Ultimate Edition itself.

Oh then by all means get the Xbox version. Truth be told the PC version is superior though for reasons such as camera panning and a hotkey bar, but if it's up between the two systems then the xbox one is probably most bang for your buck. (to note, PS3 has a better CPU and 360 has a better GPU, let that always be the yardstick)

Everyone says that the other version is worse. PS3 is better than the 360, the 360 is better than the PS3. Personally, I haven't figured it out, I do know that the computer version looks much better though.
I have it on the PS3. The game overall is a fun game to play with good replay value. My only real complaint (besides graphics, but most people can get over that quick) is that my ending epilogue seems to be glitched. I keep reading on the Wiki how you're supposed to learn about this character or that character in the ending. I've beaten it three times now, and I STILL haven't seen anything regarding a certain ring, a brother and sister from a town, or a tavern lass from the same town. You'll know who I'm talking about when you play the game.
Overall though, I suggest getting it. Probably a good idea to wait for this Ultimate edition though. That sounds like it will be worth it.

Dragon Age took me some time and a couple false starts to get into, but I ultimately put like 80+ hours into Origins, Awakenings, and most of the DLC.

The Darkspawn Chronicles were kind of shit though. Didn't finish it.

I recommend getting it, as it is a very fun game if you're a fan of RPGs. And I, personally, have no trouble with the controls. People complain about the ability wheel being horrible to use but once you learn where a certain ability is, you don't even have to think about it, just pull up the radial menu, go to your ability wheel, focus the analog stick where it needs to be and BAM, ability cast. Though, I might have had some practice. Like six playthroughs working on seven amounts of practice.
