Alternatives to the PS3 Dual shock Controller...

I'm currently looking for a replacement to one of my PS3 controllers and wondering if anyone has experience of a decent alternative to Sony's Dual Shock Controller? Not that I don't like the Sony controller, just weighing up the options...
Will be used for Shooters, RPGs and the odd driving game when the mood takes me.

I'm after something different to the dual shock as to be honest, it's a bag of uncomfortable shit. Hopefully this thread can turn out some decent alternatives.
