Try a menthol instead.
I suffer from a very serious form of Asthma and shrivelled lungs. I have to use 3 type of medicine when I wake and keep a Ventolin Evohaler on me at all times. I also have been known to use a nebuliser.

Smoking a cigarette, no matter what flavour, can cause my windpipe to suddenly close up and suffocate me to death.

No. I refuse to try a mint cigarette!
I'm guessing cloves are definitely out, then.

Yeah I was pretty similar at your age, I'm from Australia as well and yeah I was pretty much the only person I knew who fitted your description as well, but then I was attending a pretty bad public school that ended up getting closed down a few years after I left. And I didn't really need a drivers license as public transport in my area was pretty sweet, seeing how harsh the waiting periods are now I do think getting on your P's as soon as possible should be a priority these days though.

Whether or not you are an oddity is immaterial. The only thing that is important is whether you are happy and satisfied with your life and feel comfortable with your own choices. If you are happy with yourself as you are, then all is well and just continue as you are. If you are not happy, then you can do things to change. The choice is always yours. Everyone must live their own path through life, and no two people's paths and choices will be exactly the same(the world would be boring if everyone was the same)..

Some may consider you an oddity, but then, likely, they are judging you through a perspective that is not really their own. Do not overly concern yourself with their opinions. They are not necessarily thinking, choosing, and seeing with their own mind but with a mind that has been dictated to them by others. Walk your own path; think and choose for yourself(you're getting old enough to start doing that now). Have your own mind about things and be happy and content with yourself. Do no harm to yourself or to others.

From a cosmic standpoint, the organism that savors poisoning itself for an altered state of mind is a bit odder than the one that prefers to operate as designed.

I plan to do cocaine while having sex with a hooker. Each to his will right?
OT: I have never smoked or done drugs before but I do enjoy the occasional drink.

Not to belittle your confoundity, but...

After you get out of high school, neither you or anyone else will give a fuck.

(Try and take that as a comfort?)

I need to know if I'm sort of oddity (or rarity) amongst teenagers in general, or just my friends.

I'm 17 years old. I don't do drugs, and never have done drugs of any sort. I plan to keep myself clean of illicit substances for my entire life. Even weed. I have never smoked, and the only smoke I have inhaled would be second hand smoke. I plan to never smoke. I only started drinking earlier this year, and even then only small amounts. If I go to a party with alcohol, as I often do, I'll have generally one drink and leave it at that, while everyone around me gets more and more smashed.
I don't have a part time job of any sort, and have never had one. I also cannot drive, and have not even gone for my Learner's, even though one can do that here in Australia at age 16. I'm over 17 and a half.

I'm just curious, and probably wrong, but I'm a rarity amongst my friends. Almost all have part time jobs. Almost all drink much more than me. I have quite a few friends that smoke, and a small number that get stoned. Even one who walked into school one morning just after snorting high quality cocaine.

Even my girlfriend, who is very similar to me, drinks more than me, has smoked before, and has even tried weed on two occasions.
You my friend are almost exactly in the same position as me., only I'm 18 and I still haven't gotten my learners for driving. But I might be getting a job here very soon.

Sounds like you need new friends. And acquaintances. Heavy drinkers/drug users/smokers are in the minority, whether you're talking about teenagers, adults, or just everyone in general. Of course, they draw attention to themselves with those activities so they appear more common.

I've never smoked or done drugs. I drink alcohol very rarely. I don't have a driver's license. I don't have a job. I'm 22.

I wouldn't say you're a rarity. There are more like you than you think(as this site will show).

Hell, I'm 23 and have never experimented with any drug. They've never entered my system. I've never smoked cigarettes either. I didn't start drinking until I was 22 years old, and even now I drink only a few times a year.

I never gave a thought about a drivers license. I don't care to inherit the problems that come with driving, especially when you have luck like mine.

I did work at 17, though.

No, I'm the same. I don't go out with friends because I don't drink and that I'd probabaly find going out a lot pretty boring. I did go out to play pool which was fun, but it got boring for the 2 friends I went out with (I need to do something otherwise I get bored very, very easily).

I don't do any drugs or drink, I lift weights, run and generally try to keep fit and healthy.

Don't worry about being a rarity. Who reall ycares what your friends think? if you are fine being that way, then it's all gravy.

I've never done drugs, don't plan to, and the most alcohol I've had at one time was two bottles of Samuel Adams. And I'm 21. So you may be an oddity, but I would consider that a positive thing. No offense to your friends, but the world has enough drunk/high teenage idiots.

I didn't get my license til I was 19 - before that I didn't need one, so I didn't bother. Also, I'm the same - never done any of that, but mostly because I was more into piercings and tattoos than drugs. I do drink sometimes, mostly because if I avoid drawing for a day, I get a pounding headache and a glass of vodka and orange juice stops a full-blown migraine.
Also, all my roommates drink heavily and smoke pot (although not in the house). I just prefer if they never do it at home....

I've had one puff of a cigarette, but beyond that I think it would be stupid to continue. Also, I'm lucky in that I don't get drunk very quickly. Even so, I've never felt a need to obliterate all memory of the night in question.

It's not particularly unusual to avoid drugs, but most people decide that they have to use them in some form because 'that's just what you do'.

Anyway, asking 'am I a rarity?' on this site will never give you a typical response.
