One of my friends did the EXACT same thing yours did buddy. When they told me, I facepalmed and shook my head. And it only lasted a few months more than they were dating because the girl went to jail for 3 months. Then she slept with about 10 other dudes. When my friend told me that plus the divorce, I pointed and laughed.

When a marriage is THAT rushed, you know there has to be something else motivating one or both parties.

so today I heard someone talk about how they got married and stuff, and she said she only dated the guy for four months, then they decided they should get married, and since they decided so early it was "obviously meant to be".
my first thought was "yeah right, I bet it lasts shorter than you dated" (i didnt say it, just thought it)
then my second thought was "wow that was cynical, would anyone else just have thought it was sweet/nice and went on?"
I've been described as extremely cynical, but until now I just laughed and thought nothing of it. but now im scared

No you're not.
Getting married that early is proof of lack of judgement and common sense.
That's not to say that it won't last, but its certainly got nothing to do with how perfect they are for each other. I doubt they even know each other well enough for that to be the case.

You're not cynical. Especially in cases like this. Half the time people get married, it's because they conceived accidentally. Saying it was true love or they were meant for each other is just their way of living with themselves.
