In Canada, you were well within your rights, if you felt frightened and feared for your life.

Show that shit that knives don't win fights if you can't use em'!

Geez ... I would have just called the police but I guess taking the manly man option is ok.

I think that you should have maybe given him a warning before punching him, but once he pulled a knife all bets are off.

Hey guys, did you hear? I took out a guy twice the size of me with a single punch, the doctors say I nearly killed him. Was that wrong of me? T_T

Did you say "Tough break, kid" after you broke his arm too?! XD

I just dont find this story to be believable at all.
Well you don't need all that much force to break an arm, all you need to bend the elbow the wrong way

Nice!

Fuck yeah!

/sarcasm.

You were probably in the wrong. This kid might just have been an asshole for the sake of it, but he might have a shitty home life. And he's just taking it out on someone else.

What this guy said he did, isnt that unbelievable. he dragged someone smaller than him into an alley and punched him in the face, at which point, the kid pulled a knife. Here's a little secret: a knife isnt that good of a weapon, unless you really know how to use it. When you dont, using one is more likely to get yourself hurt, than anyone else.

If the bullying has been going on all year the teachers either know about it and failed to stop it or are too incompetent not to notice and thus probably too incompetent to stop it. You did the right thing.

Alright, so here is what happened, one of my friends' younger brother has been getting bullied all year round by another grade 9 kid and me and my friend have told this kid four times that if he kept bullying my friend's younger brother we were going to beat him until he cried. So here's my background with this kid... just thought it would be important to explain the situation first.

So last week-end I was at a popular local band's show with a couple of friends when I saw the kid bullying my friend's younger brother so rather than warning him a fifth time i dragged him to an alley and punched him in the face once, he got up and pulled a knife on me so I warned that if he didn't put it away he would have to drag him self out of the alley. Unfortunately the little shit ignored the warning so when he lunged at me I broke his arm and ran his face against the fence in the alley. Needless to say he was on the ground crying when I walked out of the alley.

So I was just wondering was I in the wrong to do that? and do you think the little shit will be stupid enough to bully my friend's brother again?
He pulled a fucking knife on you! Hell yes you were in the right. I'd have done the same thing.

this kind of bullshit pisses me the frack off. so he had a hard home life, who doesnt? at the end of the day, that doesnt mean he isnt responsible for his own actions. A lot of things in todays society do this, they tell you to take responsibility for your actions, and then they encourage you to blame anyone and everyone else for when u make a mistake. The kid shouldnt have been doing what he was doing, and he a got a punch in the face for it, he'd have been fine in hour if he hadnt pulled a knife. once again, he made a bad decision and he should have to live with the mother fracking consequences.
sorry, people not taking responsibility for their own decisions is kind of a pet-peeve of mine.

I dont recall getting this guys age OR height. And the knife thing... he said he lunged for him so he clearly didnt hurt himself, he had the knife out and lunged. They were in an alley where this chap had just punched the kid in the face... so he had to be in arms length... This guy dodged a lunge from a knife at arms length and then had his wits about him to also break the kids arm (bearing in mind this kid has a knife so he cant be waiting around all day to "break his arm") straight after he dodges... come on.

You were provoked AND he pulled a knife, I'd say you were right.

But I think there's got to be something you aren't telling us.

What I said have anything to do with taking responsibility for your actions. I agree he should, but those actions could be prevented by his situation.

OH YEAH?! Well I danced so awesome-ly that I traveled back in time and kissed Hitler... WITH TONGUE! Told him it was called a Jewish Kiss (Or a Jew-K-ish) and he went ape shit about it, then I strutted out of Berlin listening to Play That Funky Music White Boy... which wasnt even written then.

You believe me right?!

Once he pulled the knife out all you could've broke his neck and it would have been all justifiable.

not hard at all. the kid would have, most likely, been pushed back by the punch, and the kid didnt lunge right away, since the guy had time to warn him. And you would be surprised how easy it is to break someones arm when they lunge out at u like that, sometimes it would even be the same motion that blocked. Out of curiousity, have you ever been in a fight or had martial arts training? I have had the misfortune of being bullied physically, and ive been in a few fights because of it, and ive had a very small amount of martial arts trainging, and i know i could do what this guy said he could do, it really isnt that hard. Had the kid lunged the instant he pulled the knife, it would have been a different story, but he hesitated, thats what u get.

That's what I was thinking. The kid definitely had it coming, but he might retaliate through your friend's brother. I'd keep a close eye on him.

How are the teachers going to stop it? These days, the punishment for bullying tops out at spending a few hours in what amounts to study hall, really intimidating. Not to mention the fact that the teachers can't do anything without seeing it, because then it's a he said/ she said situation.

I explained why what he said was believable. If you have some trouble understanding it, you can look up the words you dont understand in a dictionary.

Oh, and if you actually want to disagree with me, maybe u should explain why you think im wrong instead of just being an a$$hole.

His brother thought the same thing so he was hanging around with us at lunch.
