No you were not in the wrong. He was fairly warned and then he attacked you with a knife.

Anybody who says "Yeah, you were totally in the right, no question!" obviously doesn't know how faceted Law is, especially since its different everywhere. And taking on somebody with a knife is stupid, period, you do not need to be at all a dangerous person to be dangerous with a knife. You can kill accidentally, and it is way scarier than a gun. (Not to go on a rant, but...)

I can respect you not being the bully but rather protecting the weak.. calling the police would have just given the bully another "warning" and he likely would have continued (anc if the little shit carries a freakin knife.. things could have been much worse for the kids he was bullying) ..i doubt he will be bullying anymore so i can kind of respect that.

Pain like that stays with you for a good long while, he won't be trying anything if he's smart.

Self defense, you shouldn't feel sorry for putting that prick in his place. If he's such a coward that he'll attack and harrass smaller kids and pull a knife on someone who'll actually fight back he deserves a good beating. Don't lose sleep over it, if he cut you open he could have killed or seriously injured you, and I doubt he'd be truly bothered by it. Good on you, there are too many people like him in this world, just watchout, these cunts always have friends and don't learn that easily.

Alright, so here is what happened, one of my friends' younger brother has been getting bullied all year round by another grade 9 kid and me and my friend have told this kid four times that if he kept bullying my friend's younger brother we were going to beat him until he cried. So here's my background with this kid... just thought it would be important to explain the situation first.

So last week-end I was at a popular local band's show with a couple of friends when I saw the kid bullying my friend's younger brother so rather than warning him a fifth time i dragged him to an alley and punched him in the face once, he got up and pulled a knife on me so I warned that if he didn't put it away he would have to drag him self out of the alley. Unfortunately the little shit ignored the warning so when he lunged at me I broke his arm and ran his face against the fence in the alley. Needless to say he was on the ground crying when I walked out of the alley.

So I was just wondering was I in the wrong to do that? and do you think the little shit will be stupid enough to bully my friend's brother again?

Edit: The more important Question is do you think he's going to bully my friend's brother again?
First, you totally gain GOOD KARMA for that. You won't get the Goul Mask, but still.

Secondly, I wouldn't have broke his arm. The problem is, if your a adult and do that to a kid, you'll be in flame faster than wearing a Uncle Sam costume in the middle east. No matter what you said, nobody will believe your word against the word of an "Innocent child". If not, well, your home free (except if he call his friends to get back at you). Beside, where did he pull that knife? If you are an adult, or your just a bastard, here is what you do next time.

First, you can pull him in the alley. They can't prove that you pull him there to fight. Second, what you did was correct. He attack you, You broke his arm, everything! Than, What i would do is take the knife and let the kid there. Next, you call a ambulance and the cop, declaring to be assaulted by the kid (before he do it). You give the deposition to the cop, the knife, and tell them where he is. Tell them everything: He is a bully that attack your friend brother, you wanted to make it stop and he lunge at you with the knife. The print on the knife take a few weeks, but they will identify the knife as (insert bully's Name here). Now, the bully is at the hospital, they have his knife, your clear because of self-defense, and the cops will open a case on the kid. Naturally, the cops will speak to his parents which will put him in a deep sh*t. Second, if they try to sue you, you'll have a solid case and the opportunity to counter-sue them. That kid will be punish by law and since he lunge at you with a knife, that Attempted Murder which will land him.... I'll stop there.

That would have given you Good Karma, a Hero Status and get rid of that Bully for a long time.

I'm a horrible person, am I not?

As one Drill Sarge told me it's "ATM: Ask, Tell Make". Ask someone to do / stop doing something, tell them to do / stop doing something, finally make them do / stop doing something" Keep in mind this should only be applied in certain circumstances. Also, I think that, by the time the cops would've shown up, you would have already been stabbed. Sometimes, you have to take matters into your own hands. Good job.

If he had a knife, there's nothing wrong with breaking that little turds arm.

That's the way it should be done, if they consider talk to be cheap then show them you aren't kidding through actions.

My policy is if someone picks on me, I ignore them. If they try to physically harm me, I use their own force against them. If they try to take my life, then I break them, and cripple their will to continue.

From my stand point, I believe you did the right thing.

I guess that since he pulled a lethal weapon on you, your response was semi-justified. Maybe not completely though.

You were definitely in the right.

You should've called the cops after you beat him up; I believe possession of a knife is illegal by a minor.

He attacked you with a deadly weapon, of course your self defense is justifiable. Although you did provoke him, but I doubt that would hold up in court if you were ever prosecuted for this.

While I think he would have reservations about bullying your friend's brother, he is likely to bully other people. Since you've not mentioned any history between the bully and your friend's brother I'm inclined to think that bullying is in the bully's nature.

Assuming this story is true

( highly suspect it isn't)

Assuming that the story is true, and the situation exactly what was described.

( again, probably not true, but even if it was true, unlikely that all of the story has been told)

Then no, you aren't in the wrong.
