Am I rediculous for being a little disappointed my kids will be asian?

Ok before everyone starts flaming me HEAR ME OUT. Ok so my fiance is Chinese and I am what they call "Ginger" and I am not going to lie am sorta disappointed that my genes will die with me. Red heads are a dieing breed as it is I am sorta a little disappointed I won't be able to pass on my genes that are quickly becoming extinct. I mean don't get me wrong I will love my kids regardless and such and such it just feels a little disappointing to not pass on my rare genes.

On the plus side since I won't look like my kids at all I can just grab them and run and watch people freak out as they assume I am kidnapping my own kid lmfao.

As sad as it is, at my high school i've noticed a "Hair Color Hierarchy" with brown haired people (like me) at the top, then dirty blondes, black hairs, gingers, and at the very ass-end bottom, bleached blondes, so if your kid goes to school in washington he's got a leg up above you!

Your genes won't "die" they will just be overpowered - if your son or daughter grows up and gets busy with a ginger your genes might still win out through double recessive. I think anyway - that's like... 2 semesters of biology talking which isn't much but as I understand things that's the situation.

Red hair's a recessive trait so you were kinda boned for passing it on from the start, unless you also happened to be attracted to red heads. I can understand wanting your kids to look like you, but in this case genetics were against you from the start.

Don't worry gingers wont go extinct , they stoped taking donations from gingers at the sperm bank because there is too many .which means there are vials and vials are gingers that can bred if ever that happened .

also : you could also make a bastard child with a ginger lady and keep it a secret .

OT: na it's normal to want your kids to ressemble you , although if ( god forbid ) you get divorced , you could always say he/she isn't yours because the child don't look like you .

Another redhead that has thought the same thing. At this point I'm fairly resigned that my kids aren't going to be redheads in all likelihood. It doesn't matter who we have my kids with, unless they're blonde the kids going to have their hair color.

The problem is other redheads are damn rare to begin with.

Yeah I'm really disappointed in you aba1, feigning racism to get more hits... That's not how you get serious folk to answer your thread.
But disproving my own point I'll say, don't worry too much about the way your kids are going to turn out, since they're not even conceived yet and there's no way you can change it. Just make sure they're happy and prepared for the world and you'll have done the part of the job that you have your concious thoughts for. Your genes will take care of the rest.
