Red hair is a genetic mutation. There is no guarantee that you will pass it on just by virtue of being a ginger yourself. Even if you married a woman of European descent, it is far more likely for your children to have a hair color similar to your spouse or your parents.

Also, redheads are not a dying breed. It is a genetic mutation, not a race. Genetic mutations occur at a certain rate, and that rate will not be changing anytime soon.

Some people have free earlobes, others have attached. I don't know the exact numbers, but let's just say it's half and half. It will always remain half and half because that is the occurance rate of that particular mutation. It's not like the free earlobe people will win out and the attached earlobe folk will go extinct. That's not how mutation works, unless you are looking at it from a *very* large time scale, and even then there are different rules for different types of mutations.

your genes arent dying out, exactaly half of them will be in each of your children. If the Phenotype is all you care about then i guess ignorance is only skin deep

Genes are "meh", IMO, but this is coming from someone who doesn't want kids (And if I do they won't be genetically related to me...).

Ok before everyone starts flaming me HEAR ME OUT. Ok so my fiance is Chinese and I am what they call "Ginger" and I am not going to lie am sorta disappointed that my genes will die with me. Red heads are a dieing breed as it is I am sorta a little disappointed I won't be able to pass on my genes that are quickly becoming extinct. I mean don't get me wrong I will love my kids regardless and such and such it just feels a little disappointing to not pass on my rare genes.

On the plus side since I won't look like my kids at all I can just grab them and run and watch people freak out as they assume I am kidnapping my own kid lmfao.
Well, if you're gonna have kids, you should learn basic grammar. Sorry to be a dick.
It's cool you don't look like a dick. You look like a tool, but not a dick.

My point was more that it will more than likely be bread out over time.

I'm pretty sure almost all of our differences will be bread out over a long time especially with travel going on at the scale it is.
Especially with things you have no control over it is pointless to be sad or concerned about things you wont be around for. just enjoy your hot asian wife

**shrug**

That's what Henna (or hair dye I suppose) is for - turning people back into redheads.

Imagine it - you could have kids who are both Chinese AND redheads. Talk about looking awesome! ^^
