Seriously the entire consent of words being offensive to the point where you need to do more than insult the person that insulted you to me is just absurd.

I understand slander and defamation but other than insults like that taking legal or physical action due to being offended is just moronic, this kind of goes both way as if you sink into depression or even heaven forbid kill yourself over an insult you are just sort of pathetic.

I, for one, am offended by "bad langueage."

It hurts. It really does. So maybe you are the only one.

Also, inb4 a bunch of people swearing just for the sake of it.

You seem to be putting a lot of things under the umbrella topic of bad language. Bad language typically refers to swear words, so I will answer your OP as such.

Whilst I will rarely find them offensive when not targeted at me, I find them offensive when said to me by someone I don't know/dislike. No more so than if they'd said I had the personality of a leech without swearing though.

The spelling of your title is super-ironic, unintended or not...

And now a PSA about questions involving the words 'Am I the only one...'

The bad language in your thread title offends me. XD

I kid, I kid.

I've been irritated by foul language. I've seen a couple of otherwise decent movies be ruined by it. Never taken legal or physical action over it though.

I don't generally get offended when language is directed at me. I tend to get more offended with such language is directed towards others. Either way, offended or not, I do definitely think that overuse of "bad" language goes a long way towards making the person who is using it seem much less intellgent.

Simply offended? You're not alone in that. I've been irritated by foul language in cases where it seems to have been used as a substitute for actual dialogue, but not offended by it.

So far as I'm concerned, if a person is resorting to cuss words in an attempt to piss me off, what they have to say has no bearing I need bother paying attention to.

$5 says he was intoxicated when he made this post. The weird misspellings and phrasing screams alcohol. Any takers?

The upcoming movie God Bless America. Well, "upcoming" in the sense that its theatrical release is this Friday, although it has been on some VOD services for the lats month or so.

It's all about context for me, but most of the time no since I have a pretty foul mouth myself.

Now, if someone calls me a ***** for no reason, then I'm going to get upset.

I get offended when people call me an "asshole." Not really, but I do correct them. I'm a "jackass." Assholes don't bend over backwards helping friends who ask for help.

Never been offended, but I do find it bloody annoying when people use it in nearly every sentence. Use it emotionally or to make something funny, repeating curse words over and over just makes you look like you've been poorly raised.

If by bad language, you mean swearing, then no, although if it is used in every single sentence it can be annoying.

If you mean bad language as in spelling and things of that nature, then perhaps offended isn't the right word, but again annoying may be.

I'm sorry but I am horribly offended by the fact that you neglected to proof-read or, edit your post.

In all seriousness I think you're trying to make a statement on cyber bullying. Personally, I don't understand why people kill themselves over it and will just stop right there.

Dear god, man, you're making a thread about language, try and type it correctly, will you? And I never go grammar nazi. But really, man. Spell check is your friend.

Now, as for me, very VERY rarely. Usually if it's used in an abhorrently unprofessional manner. Had to deal with that recently with the one bad manager at my work. The guy was trying to act all alpha male and thought that swearing in a conversation about loss prevention would both intimidate me and the other guy I was with while also making him seem like the "manager that doesn't care about being professional". Which, considering he was being disgustingly picky about something we have to do (and lying to us about the consequences during the whole time, I found out after) he came off as a prick.

Thankfully, his higher-ups heard, and he hasn't talked to me since :D

Yep, this. Words are words, and saying using a substitute for "F***" is no better than saying the word itself. That crap is going to come out some times, and there is no reason to be offended by it. Of course, people who rely on swearing to get their points across come across as blathering idiots most of the time, so there is a line that can be crossed.
