Am I the only one who hates to share their clothes with someone?

I don't mind, depending on the person. My GF wears my clothes, as does my sister occasionally (jerseys, jackets or hoodies only), but she smokes so I generally have to immediately launder anything she borrows (if my gf wears a similar item, I don't have to worry about that wretched smell).

You... you! You all shut your ungrateful mouths! I had 5 older brothers. The only clothes I ever got that were even new were my shoes, socks, and underpants.
That's it. I didn't get to pick out so much as a T-shirt of my own until I was 15.
Coats, hats, shirts, pants. Everything else I had was a hand-me-down. So, I had outdated out of fashion clothes pretty much till high school but even than what little money I made had to be spent on gas. It was especially bad when one of them bought and out grew a 'band t-shirt' yes it was old and cool and all but if I didn't KNOW WHO the band was people would get hostile to me. I even said 'look man, it's a hand-me-down. what do you want from me?' A fight was apparently it.
Not to mention I did have a 6th older brother. Though he is only 9 minutes older than me. So in addition to only having hand-me-downs. Pretty much every article of clothing I had was to be shared with him. (Again except socks, shoes, and underpants... I just want to make that clear)

I hated it greatly and as an adult am very particular and protective of my clothing getting damaged because of it.

I don't mind, but I suppose that's because no one can fit into my clothing. At least the people that I know.
Being around 6'8''-6'9'' not many people I know can wear the same stuff as me.
Guessing you don't have any siblings? All my brothers and I when reaching adulthood are between 6'6" and 6'9". We could probably all still share clothes.

I wear alot of black so people wouldn't steal my clothes :) That and my fashion sense is abysmal.
Because no-one wears black clothes. It's totally not a look that any teenager has considered.
Around my area, People who wear black are rare. In fact, most places in the UK. Why the unneeded hostility?
I apologize. Was in horrible mood. Will try to be nicer in future. Will you accept this apology cookie?

My brother have taken some of my T-Shirts and claimed that they "suit him better" but I have paid for them with my own "money for clothes etc" thatI've gotten from my mom and he have no right to take them.

OT: If I were you I would hit her in the face if she tried taking stuff from me while I were sleeping. Can't she just ask before taking anything thats yours? She seem very childish

My ex used to wear my sweaters and t-shirts. I usually didn't mind, but one time she snuck out one morning wearing the sweater I had been wearing when I came over (she didn't realize, thought she had taken it earlier from my place). Since I had planted t-shirts and underwear at her place but no sweaters, I couldn't leave until she came back (too cold outside and none of here clothes would've fit me).

It bugs me to this day. But it was at its worst when I lived at the apartment building with a druggie who was the same size as me. It wasn't just clothes either. He used my towels, my bed, he found and stole my porn... he basically had no respect for other people's property. When we all got evicted I just gave him a bunch of my clothes he always wore because I would never wear many of them again anyway.

My brother is a runner-up (pun intended) because he always wore my shoes instead of his own. I have yet to find out why. I'm 3 shoe sizes larger than him yet on a couple of occasions I found myself ready for work minus shoes and had to hunt him down before I could get to my job.

With family, if they ask then I don't have a problem with it. As long as they ask and accept it when I say no then it's fine. Sneaking in and stealing your pants while you're asleep is kinda creepy though.

I did grow up with 3 older siblings, so when I was younger hand-me-downs were pretty common for me.

I never had it that harsh, but can empathise. Until my high school years I don't think it even registered with me, but began to be a pain when I wanted to look pretty.

Whenever I go home my Mom feels entitles to "borrow" anything of mine that catches her eye. I wouldn't mind but she never askes so I think I've lost it for a good few months.

Thankfully I don't really have this problem as my mum doesn't fit in my clothes, but my brother did steal some of my singlets once. That kinda weirded me out, and I got pretty annoyed because he stretched them and he smells bad. I complained to my mum, and she basically pissed herself laughing and told him "If you need singlets, just say so." Then she went out and bought him a bunch of girl's singlets.

Other than that, I always lend my friends my jumper/jacket if they seem cold and they don't have one. I draw the line there, though. I wouldn't want to share other clothes.

The idea of sharing clothes seems kinda weird to me. Than again I hate to have any type of human social contact besides that of my family, close friends, and people on the internet.

To each their own I say.

My parents can't wear what I wear because it doesn't fit them. The only clothes I'm willing to share is my sweatshirt and this is only when whoever wants to wear it (usually a girl) is cold. Apparently it's really warm.
