I don't mind it all that much, since I made sure to quadruple the RAM on my laptop before even trying it out.

...actually, the only serious problem I have with it is that it seems to take a ton of memory. My laptop is supposed to have a capacity of 67 GB. I only have 5 gigs left, but I can only see 28 on my hard drive (hidden and system files included). I'm kinda confused at that.
Yeah, that's my problem. I've got a 110 GB, next thing you know it's down to about 20.
Where the hell did it go?
As for this, i thought i had this problem with my 500 gig computer going down to 100, but vista shows you how much is filled up, thats what it was with me anyway

I love my vista, only thing I hate about it is the lack of IPX protocol, making me unable to play Diablo 1 in LAN.

I had Vista on both my gaming rig ( 2 years old ) and my gaming laptop ( over a year old now ) and I don't believe I've ever had a single crash that wasn't my fault, much less the dreaded BSOD.

Vista isn't the OS that Jesus would use, but it's not nearly as terrible as some people make it out to be. As someone much earlier pointed out, it's usually PEBKAC, although hardware incompatibilities can mess with systems that have been upgraded to Vista from another version of Windows.

I just recently started running Windows 7 on my main PC ( I'm building a brand new one, so if it screws me over, no biggie ), and the RAM-eating goodness has been toned down a bit, although anyone trying to run modern games with less than 3 or 4 gigs is asking for frustration anyway. I honestly think the biggest problem today is people who use stock systems, loaded with useless junk and cheaply made hardware, not to mention awful cooling. I hope all of us gamers here on The Escapist know better. As always, the uninformed will complain the loudest.

It looks nicer, runs smoother and comes with some useful new features such as improved Start Menu navigation and ReadyBoost.
