I think it's pretty unfair the reputation Molyneux has. I mean sure he talks his games up, but his enthusiasm is unmatched, and to be honest i don't think he has made a terrible game...Yet.
Your doing bad to do good I would call this moral gray areaStraying Bullet said:Uh, no.weker said:Straying Bullet said:All in all, the graphics were the worst offenders. Nauseating and vomiting, that motion blur + glow. Also, no grey moral area like they told me I'd experience.Um the king part was where the moral grey area was, as you had to weigh the risk of living standerds and risk of everyone getting killed
Fable III had the arbitary system of "Either give away money and keep people happy but let them all killed. Or "hoard the money to save them for an invasion but be called a tyrant."
Of course you can invest your personal wealth but this is clearly just "Good/Evil". There is no option to tell your people "A blight is coming in the next year, please bear with me for a year and then I will fulfil every promise I made"
Also, the NPC's all look the same and generic kind, no personal attachment.
This. I think if they implemented every idea Pete had, we'd never see a Lionhead game.TheBelgianGuy said:The problem with Peter, is that he promises so much about his game, and ultimately only 10% of those promises make it in the actual game. And there are always people who blindly believe whatever they hear.
(I like the guy though, he is always very enthusiastic, a nice chap)
I personally loved Black and White 1&2, and Fable 1. I hope Fable 3 will be awesome when they release it on PC, after the rather bad user reviews on the consoles.

really dont understand whay you think moral grey is.Straying Bullet said:No. That's just a clear line between Good/Evil.weker said:Your doing bad to do good I would call this moral gray area
The context. The Situation and the choices you get consist of "Press A or X". Connected to those buttons that bottles down to "Do Good or Evil".
The situation Lionhead put you completely breaks any illusion of choice. Where is my option to rally my people and tell them for their sake and the kingdom, we have to struggle on meagre ends for a year so we can all live peacefully?
But I am done with this game, sure it has it's charm but the one moral grey area Fable 2 did right, was in the Spire. I felt a real struggle, even if it was minimal.
I made some evil choices to save lives so does that make my choice evil I could let people die at the cost of better living or I could lower their living and saves lives, both are right and wrong at the same time.Straying Bullet said:http://gamerlimit.com/2009/05/great-debate-the-moral-grey-area/weker said:really dont understand whay you think moral grey is.
I wanted to play a good character but I still choose a few evil options to earn enough money to save everyone if thats not moral grey i dont know what is in your books.
Seriously, what Fable offers you isn't a moral grey dilemma. That is simply choosing between TWO extremes without any actual thought. All it revolves is money. Simply mixing up good and bad choices = Doesn't make a grey moral area.
Also note how a meter keeps your Evil/Good side in check, meaning all grey decision and the consequences are already pre-determined for you. You either do bad or good.
But whatever man, if you think that is moral grey area, I think you missed out on a lot of great titles the past few years with actual depth and any meaning, emotional/gameplay wise.

Can you give me an example of what you think is morally grey as I cant think of a situation that is not good or bad if you only consider the present.shootdown said:Dude you're like an actual idiot, in fable3 you're just choosing between good and bad, and even if you're doing bad to do good, that really doesn't count as a dilemma. Christ that part of the game really pissed me off, I mean i could have said id fix everything in a year, and told the people of albion that some crazy shit was on its way and we'd have to rough it for a bit, but most of all i hate how the game assumes that the only way to make money for the country is by doing evil stuff, i mean seriously what the hell?weker said:really dont understand whay you think moral grey is.
