Seriously, gameplay-wise its like baldur's gate 2 lite. which was dungeons and dragons lite.
And of all the dialogue, only a handful of segments were worth my time, the rest was filler that could have been used to develop the characters, but instead each character relies on huge amounts of exposition to reveal themselves as people, which they fail at for the most part. (though alistair and leliana were interesting, to a point).
My point is, I'm glad I bought it used so its devs get none of my money.
I guess that it hits that middle ground between what the knuckledragging button mashers and the elitist number crunchers want, and manages to appeal to both. But I'm still glad I didn't pay full price.
