Imagine how much more relaxed our workplaces and schools would be without shoes. We could have those reflexology pools which stimulate different parts of the feet, and nice soft grass to walk on. Mmm...

Not only that but our feet wouldn't smell nearly as much by reason of having them stuffed in moist socks and shoes for 12 hours a day. Ironically, it is shoes that are most likely the very reason that many people find bare feet disgusting. Keeping our things covered up and away from sunlight tends to make body parts pale, hairy and stinky.

Ah bare feet are awesome, but I've never thought of them as "sexy" or anything. I don't mind giving out foot rubs, all the ladies seem to like them. I'd never wear shoes if I could get away with it.

Considering most people are insanely ticklish on their feet, it's probably some subconscious stuff about the vulnerability of bare feet or something like that.

I find feet and going barefoot gross. Think of all the crap on the ground and in the sand..... I never go barefoot, and am barely comfortable wearing sandals.

Cause I walk around barefoot all the damn time. Hell, I'll go down to the corner store barefoot.

Is this really just an Australian thing?
No, a lot of places in Australia have "no shirt, no shoes, no service" signs, besides, some places here, you wouldn't dare go without shoes.

It's more a health and safety issue than jealousy or body bashing, particularly in areas where there's likely to be sharp things.

It's so we don't all remember who the OP really is, and every time we see them we think: "Oh, it's that guy who likes feet".

We've had fetish threads before, though, and we didn't all alt-account that one. No one remembers who likes what now. I DO remember that about 40% of the respondents liked feet, though.

Nope, no you're not the only one!

This is the internet, and there is no place/stance/belief/fetish/perspective/thought in which you are alone!

I don't actually have what most people would call a foot fetish though. Feet alone are either neutral or unattractive. Foot porn (I can't believe that's a thing) grosses me out, but when I see a cute girl who is barefoot I get kind of embarrassed and sometimes aroused (TMI). Even though I'm bi it doesn't really happen with guys. The plot thickens!
Maybe just to a lesser degree than people who dribble at the site of feet :p Eh nothing wrong with a foot fetish, fairly neutral to them myself. I mean I enjoy S&M, far iffier, but I don't want to watch porn of it, because it makes me seriously unconfortable. On the male front, from a straight perspective, women have soft and dainty feet, mens are blocky and hairy?

I do however find my girlfriends feet and shoes adorable, she's only got size 2 1/2 feet (she's 4ft 9) ^^ Always amuses me seeing her shoes next to my hulking boots.

I'm pretty sure I could sell pictures of her feet for a hefty profit.

I knew. I knew someone was going to post that damned comic. Allow me to reply with an image of my own:

A person asking "Am I the only one?" is not making an actual request for confirmation of his/her singular status. What's being employed there is a rhetorical device called hyperbole (which is not one of the lesser-known characters of Aeschylus) for emphasis.

Now can we please retire the "YOU ARE NEVAR TEH ONLY ONE!!!eleven!!" stuff for good?

I think I was unclear. It's fairly normal to be barefoot where I'm from too but to me it feel private or intimate despite logic telling me it's not.

Exactly. Or the girl who likes feet. That would stand out more in the memories of others.

That's your choice, dude, but I've given enough information away before that any of my friends who use this could put 2 and 2 together. I'm just being prudent with information I don't want popping up again when I'm elected Queen of England.

I am one of those people that are pretty much always in barefoot. All summer long if I leave the house I only wear a thongs/flipflops, and I wear barefoot almost all year round inside. The only time I wear socks is with boots, mostly in the winter/autumn.

I find barefoot to be the most comfortable, I am a very hot person, so having my feet covered can make me overheat.

I am actually the opposite, I find it extremely strange if people wear socks in bed, almost to the point if anyone did it in my bed I might tell them to take the socks off first. It just weirds me out to have socks in bed, it is like wearing shoes in bed...which when I think about it, if I don't wear socks, then my feet would be just as dirty than someone socks would, but that doesn't seem to change a thing for me.

Well dude, I have a rather significant foot fetish myself, and I relate to it completely. It's a rather unfortunate awkwardness to be sure, not to mention a distraction whenever I'm out and about and there's all these fine looking women, 'ya know, going barefoot and wearing sandals and shit. I've always looked at it as tantamount to them going around topless - massive distraction. Haha. But eh, to most people, feet are absolutely non-sexual and non-private just like hands, which is understandable. We're the odd ones out here, so we have to put up with it. I'd say if going barefoot bothers you, then that's fine. I don't like it myself (or any kind of foot-revealing shoes) besides going to the shower and back. So no, you are most definitely not alone.

Also, I doubt you need to alt-account for this. Unless you're one of those creeps on YouTube harassing women to show off their feet in videos (unlikely), then no one who isn't a prick is gonna judge 'ya man.

Edit: Upon reading the rest of the thread (I should do this first, really) it seems you aren't a foot fetishist. Fair enough. At that point I wouldn't know why going barefoot would seem so strange to you, but for some people it's a lesser exposed part of the body, so hey, it still makes sense to a degree. Nothing to really be bothered about, I'd say.

Hum.. I guess seeing someone's feet for the first time is kind of weird. But I always take off my shoes inside houses when i can. Shoes are just so damn uncomfortable, besides, it keeps the dirt at the door. If I know im alone, I run around outside barefeet too (scandalous). But I can understand why you'd think it'd be a private thing to do. Its like seeing someone about in pajamas.

Believe it or not, it was a reaction to hippies and their free-lovin', barefeet-shufflin' ways. That element just didn't set well with store owners and customers.

I'm a big fan of soft grass on the feeties though so i get where you're coming from.
Unless you live near the beaches in Southern California(I can't speak for elsewhere in Cali but the ones I've been to in Orange County and San Diego county have been that way).

If I could, I'd walk around barefoot all the time. Since the aforementioned no shirt, no shoes, no service policy stands in my city and I live nowhere close to a beach (unless you consider an hour minimum no traffic to be close....) I tend to wear flip flops(thongs) year round. /stereotypical californian (but only in this sense and the hanging my arm out the window whilst driving thing)

OP: While I have never quite exactly heard of what you're describing, I'm pretty sure I probably have a friend or two that's like that. Personally I don't think feet are a private thing or an icky thing but I'm also a trained massage therapist so occasionally that involves working on people's feet for massages. They're neutral territory. Like an arm, a leg, a knee, an elbow....they're just another body part to me. However, don't fret, you're perfectly "normal" [sub][sub][sub][sub]my thing is more personality, deep male voices, certain accents, and eyes though so....[/sub][/sub][/sub][/sub]

But how else are we supposed to ignore the entire point of OP's if we can't focus entirely on silly figures of speech?!? D:

OT: Due to a very private tattoo on my ankle, I never go in public barefoot unless its a beach or a pool. It is nothing obscene but I consider it quite personal and I like to keep it to myself as much as possible. A lot of people have hang ups about going around barefoot. Before my tattoo, I used to walk around outside on occasion without shoes or socks just for the sensation of it. My feet aren't as tough as they used to be now though.
