Just in case I live to 2077, Am I the only one who has a box to keep things they need to survive?
I have a very large coat, a few knifes, about 400 bottle caps, and water bottles..?

Well, I have a list in my head... And a Costco about 1 mile away, so I figure I will just head there when the bombs fall. (for anyone who doesn't know, Costco sells bulk everything for cheap, mostly food)

I don't need one.

If I live to 2077 i'm going to be about 98 so the chances of me being able to do anything other than urinate down my own leg and drool like a pervert in a convent are slim.

I live in an ex-council listed building, their walls are so thick I doubt a bomb could ever destroy it.

Bottle caps?

Everyone knows that in a REAL nuclear holocaust cigarettes will be the REAL form of currency. Also, one other thing you need to survive in the nuclear wasteland is a S&W.500 Magnum Revolver.

Fuck those Deathclaws! >:-D

We use leaves for currency by then. And also burn the remaining forests to reduce inflation.

If there's a nuclear holocaust, I don't intend to survive it. Besides, in 2077, I'll be like 95/96 anyway.

By 2077 I will have had my brain implanted into an unstoppable robot killing machine so I won't really have a problem.

As someone who works at a Walmart, let me advise you against this plan. You want to know the one place EVERYONE goes when it looks like the shit is about to hit the fan? Grocery shopping. If there were a nuclear weapon falling, and you went grocery shopping, you'd probably get killed in a stampede of some sort before it even hit the ground. Never underestimate just how stupid, reckless, and careless large groups of people can be, especially if they're in a collective emotionally volatile state.

As for me, no, I don't have a nuclear holocaust box. Mostly because I really don't know that I'd want to survive and live in a post apocalyptic wasteland to start with. It just doesn't sound like a fun time to be had by all. I'd rather get taken out in the blast, than have to slowly and painfully wither away in its wake.

The grocery shopping thing is 100% true. Hell, around here, people rush the grocery store every time it fucking SNOWS, and yet the danger of getting stuck in your house for more than 2 days is exactly zero.

I wouldn't say I have a box set aside for the apocalypse, but I do have a number of things that would prove useful. A hunting rifle + 90 rounds, several large knives, several small knives, some padded armor (in case of zombies; well, mostly in case of Hockey, but zombies works too. no good vs much else), and enough rations to last until I can scrounge more up.

I have a radiation suit, gas mask (with SEALED filter) and geiger counter. I'd like to buy a year's worth of dried food but it doesn't actually last that long. If only someone would make some nuclear chow.

Dried Noodles. They pretty much don't expire. I still wouldn't recommend keeping them around for 70 years, but they should last 10 without any problem.

I feel compelled to ask, why the hell do you have a sealed hazmat suit?

I'll be 87 in 2077, so tbh i'd rather die in the nuclear holocaust! Thats assuming there arn't any radical life-extension drugs out there by that era.

If there is such life-extension tech, i have a bow, several arrows and a wide choice of garden-weapons to choose from. By British standards, i'm well-armed.
