I think it's a good idea to have an emergency bag. You may not need one for a nuclear holocaust, but for something like perhaps an earthquake it's always good to have around. It can't hurt at least.
That said, I'm a little skeptical about how much use your contents are going to be. For one, you can't know for certain what kind of currency people will be using and for the start at least there will be plenty of regular coins around which won't have been torn apart by radioactive decay.
Now, since I'm on that matter anyway, I wouldn't worry too much about that coat of yours. Instead, get some regular foto film, which hasn't been exposed to light yet. As you may know, when that stuff turns black, you need to start using the iodine tablets (as for drugs: stock up on iodine tablets). Those will at least keep you alive in an atmosphere of minor radiation.
Knives are good for preparing stuff with, but trust me, throw a can opener in there (or maybe even a Swiss pocket knife) and you will be king of all that sealed away food sitting there in the abandonned food stores.
And finally matches, in a Ziploc bag in case they get wet. Their use kind of speaks for itself.
Although on the matter of bags, you may want to exchange your box for one. Since you probably won't want to hang out where ever disaster strikes, something with straps is far more convient to cary with you.
But apart from that, yeah, keep the water in there and (how could I forget) you'll want a first aid kit as well.

I have a radiation suit, gas mask (with SEALED filter) and geiger counter. I'd like to buy a year's worth of dried food but it doesn't actually last that long. If only someone would make some nuclear chow.
I feel compelled to ask, why the hell do you have a sealed hazmat suit?
I second that.

I don't need one.

If I live to 2077 i'm going to be about 98 so the chances of me being able to do anything other than urinate down my own leg and drool like a pervert in a convent are slim.
Unless, of course, artificial body parts become mainstream by then, which I'm hoping.

I'm too poor to actually have a shelter, but I am prepared in other ways...

in 2077 im going to be 92 so if i manage to not piss down my leg im going to be going great guns
more seriously there are tunnels under my house left over from WW1 ive put a generator down there along with candles and all that other crap you need and i rotate through canned food bottled water and Diesel fuel once a year or so so it stays fresh in a chamber that use to be used to store munitions for the big harbour defence guns

i am thinking about getting a couch down there
but the likelihood of me actually surviving a nuclear holocaust are so remote ive only set up a small area as a thing for natural disasters however i live in a place that is relatively free from natural disaster tsunami or volcano is the worst we will ever get so there is no real need its more of a fun hobby and a place i can go to hide if someone i dont want to see turns up

It would be nice to see it happen... but I'd be over 90 years old by then anyway... and the present doesn't look like a 1950s suburban American view of the future, so I think things are going down differently.

...but I collect bottlecaps, ammunition and food with a longer lifespan than me anyway. Also, potassium iodide tablets. Radaway for the real world.

I'll be 86. In my box I will have high explosives so that when the mutants come for me, I'll kill them along with me.
