Well if that isn't just meta. Still, it is a pretentious and annoying way to start a thread (or to start a lot of things actually), and taking it literally is just a deadpan way to criticise its use, not generally an actual argument in itself. Also, maybe I'm new, but I've never seen that comic before and I think that is f***ing hilarious.

I wouldn't mind if it was used for something that could actually be applicable to only a small group of people.

If you really believe that the person writing "am I the only one" thinks that he is the only one on the planet holding this opinion than you really have no idea what a hyperbole is...

Or you know, I'm just sick of all the "am i the only one" related threads in existence. Just sayin also kind of sad that you are saying that I don't know what a hyperbole is, when that is just what my post is... Only reason you took it seriously is because you too are sick of all the "am i the only one threads".
