get better friends. im half mexican, half black, and i have an entire burned cd dedicated to the entire symphony of 'also sprach zarathustra'.

i think you are fully within your rights to viciously and baseless-ly insult their tastes in music, they obviously have no idea what theyre talking about either.

Apparently I'm too much of an astronaut, because I eat ice cream at a bar. My friends told me this. It makes me all confused. Tell me it isn't so.

Meh, I don't do a lot of headbanging these days.
But I've still got the mettle to metal - and if I were to bang, I'd probably go for some Spineshank.

I think you've got the wrong thread buddy.

In all honesty that does sound pretty white, is there music you enjoy that isn't mostly classical?
It seems I do o_O

Firefox must be trolling me.

Excuse me for the inconvenience, I'll be going now...

Unless you start dressing in bedsheets and setting fire to crosses, you're not too white.

I like listening to Classical music too, Beethoven is also a favourite of mine, but I never consider this to have any bearing on my skin colour or ethnicity. I also like to listen to Rap and Hip-Hop, but I never feel myself becoming blacker as I do so.

Besides, even if your appreciation of Classical composers means that you are as "White as white can be", why is this a problem?

I think the trope that being white is uncool and that because something is associated with being black it's automatically cool or better, is quite racist... and I think it's sad that some people feel the need to parrot (and inadvertently lampoon) black culture in order to be 'cool', rather than just being comfortable with what they are and liking music for strictly musical reasons.

Of course, because it's a known fact that NO BLACK PEOPLE have EVER enjoyed classical music.
Get new friends.

your friends are likely just a bunch of sheep. they follow whatever music trends that everyone else does, and because you like the older classic stuff, they find that strange.

If that is what makes one white, than I too, am insanely white.

There is good news in this though, if we find enough people, we can all clump together in a huge pile and use our whiteness to confuse predators.

Usually if you have to ask then you are, but likeing classical music has nothing to do with race, you just really like classical music is all.

Too white? You can never be too white.

That's like saying "am I too awesome, guys?" Don't be silly! If you don't love what you are, you have bigger problems than liking Beethoven(Wagner is far superior).

the interesting thing is that your friends say that non-white people can't enjoy classical European music
