i let my friends proofread what i wrote before anyone els, then it goes on a closed forum for ppl to proofread then it goes public

I haven't written in a long time, at least not anything that has gone beyond a chapter. Haven't even been able to doodle out a short-story =(

But back in the day I would let my friends read what I wrote. Sometimes.

I write short stories and lyrics. Sometimes I let people read them, though it's not usually for feedback, so much as entertainment.

I have friends who I know would be brutally honest with me. Try and find one or two people like that.
