I bought mirror's edge last saturday, and at first I was amazed, it was such a fun game, but after beating it once, I don't want to play it again, not even for achievements. What was the quickest amount of time a game got boring for you?
Dude. If a game gets boring for you after you beat it (which, in the case of Mirror's Edge, probably took something like 6-10 hours?), that's normal, not exceptional. Why should you want to play the same thing again?

Crysis' single player bored me after half an hour. It might not count, though, because I had played a lot of multiplayer at that point and was thoroughly familiar with the gimmicks and bad UI.

I returned to WoW as of monday around 4p.m. I logged off around 4.35 p.m. bored out of my mind. I hope Cataclysm can keep my attention for longer than half an hour. Honestly, Why have I even returned? Isn't it always the same?
The answers are 'addiction' and 'yes'. And no, it won't be any different in Cataclysm. The fundamentals of the game haven't gone anywhere.

Damn this thread's been going on for a long time. I guess I'll have to go with the most recent Prince of Persia. Did not find it very interesting.

Fable 3.

It's like Loinhead isn't even trying anymore.

Good Christ, that game was boring.

The PC version of Morrowind.

The Xbox version held my interest, because it felt so much better to play. But the PC version just didn't play right.
I know what you mean.
For some reason I had both versions when it was current (actually I still do I think), but preffered the xbox one.... except the constant Dirty Disk Errors that I didn't get with PC version.

I'd only play the PC one now though. With the oblivion texture mods etc etc
Please note that I posted that more than 2 years ago. My, how times change.

Incidentally, I've grown to agree with you. Once I'd played the Xbox version to death (and loved every minute, mind you) I discovered to the full extent the wonders of playing with mods.

Overlord II. I put it down before completing the first non-tutorial level, and never played it again.

Starcraft 2, got on I'm guessing the third mission, then stopped playing. RTSs are not for me.

Same for me, just with the first one. I got to the Norad II mission, couldn't beat it, gave up there due to sheer boredom.

I think most games I end up not playing nowadays. The problem is I impulse buy games now that I can afford them on a regular basis. I think the worst was either mercenaries 2 or dragon age.

I dont why im like this sometimes. I hype up a game in my mind. Spend £20 up on it, play for 2 hours, then never play it again. Yet there are some I will play for ages (I bought l4d 1 and 2 on pc, played 109 hours in total, add the 2 or 3 times more time on xbox...you get the picture)

Its annoying, but I guess I can use it as a back catalogue someday (I hope)

Team Fortress 2. Played for 2 hours quit and went back to good ol' TFC.

Mind you this was during the heavy update, so I hear a lot has changed so now it's just a hat simulator.

Vindictus, sadly. It was such fun for a while, and cost nothing to buy, but I'm not convinced that there's enough variety to make it worth playing indefinitely.

Dead Rising and Elderscrolls 4 Oblivion. One was bought by my bro and the other one was an unwanted gift to me.

Transformers: War for Cybertron.

Played the campaign, thought "Wow, co-op in TRANSFORMERS! SWEET!"

10 minutes later, was like, "Oh wow, this campaign is kinda dull". The multiplayer and Escalation is great, though.

Alien vs. Predator 2000
If you want a less obvious one, STALKER Shadow of Chernobyl. It was just boring as shit to me (not to mention it was buggy as hell)

with out intending to sound fan boyish,(cause >.>;; i kinda am for Vin)

but the game hasn't been out that long, even if you count open beta, of course there isn't gonna be much variety, maybe you where expecting to much to soon?
